We loved this so much we bought one for our daughter. If you run out of a color, you only refill that color…and the price of refill ink in all three colors is far less than a cartridge.

Love how long the ink lasts but the printer heads wore out in a shorter period that I would have thought. I do a lot of printing however. I still purchased another one because it’s a workhorse.

If you do a lot of printing, this printer is the absolute best. I had a great printer that still worked, but it went through ink cartridges like crazy. I was hesitant to go to an Eco Tank, but for the printer price, I figured it was worth a shot. I have had this printer for about half a year now, and I really love it. Set up-- 9/10 - Don't let anyone fool you. The set up is not hard. You might need to put your reading glasses on to go through the settings, but it really isn't difficult. Took me maybe 10 minutes. Print quality -- 8/10. If you need high quality images, this printer probably isn't your best option. HOWEVER, if you are printing documents, pictures for reference, day to day stuff, this is amazing. Quick printing, looks great. I use for my business, and I print a lot of stuff. This printer has kept up. Ink -- Super easy to reload ink. You can see ink levels, so no guessing how much is there. I have been impressed with how far the ink goes to traditional cartridge systems. Caveats - - Scanning - You have to scan one page at a time, and scan quality is 6.5/10 with best settings. So if you do a lot of scanning, you might want to get one with a feeder and better scanning capabilities. But for average document scanning, it works just fine. - Paper holder -- It holds about 30 pages. Wish it held more, but it's easy to load. I would still buy this printer all over again. I have saved so much money in ink, and it prints high quality at a fast rate.

If you are still buying expensive ink refills this is your wake-up call to make the change. This printer works very well even in an office environment with everyday printing. The refills last a long time, and they are very affordable. Easy to use and install. I use this one at my studio with my phone and the app to print without a computer. Already have one at home and purchased 2 where I used to work- one for the office and one for my boss's home.

Works great so far. It was easy to set up.

Very lightly used but lasted only a less than year. Now it has paper error which I can’t resolve it. There is no any phone support to guide me to any fix. I had HP printer lasted for 9 years before this.

After eleven years, our multi-use printer finally gave out. I searched for a comparable printer from another manufacturer to 1) get some relief from expensive and monopolistic ink cartridges and 2) avoid printer initiated self-checking process which became frequent, lengthily and annoying. I selected the Epson ET-2840 all-in-one Ink Tank printer, and the initial physical setup was easy; however, gone are the days when one could enter a command to "install/add a new printer". This printer requires downloading software, possibly up-date firmware, connect Wi-Fi for laptop via smart phone instructions. All of this for a home use printer seemed overwhelming, so I contacted a family member, who is computer savvy with technical experience, for assistance. This proved valuable as the process was successful without incidences and was completed in a reasonable time. To-date, everything is functioning perfectly with good speed and quality using less ink. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the purchase of the Epson Ink Tank Printer.

Very disappointed with the durability of this printer I purchased this Epson EcoTank ET-2840 new from Sam's Club in August 2024. It worked well until it suddenly failed with an E-01 / 000041 error after just over two years of normal home use. The printer was working perfectly just days before the failure. I followed all of Epson's troubleshooting instructions, powered it off and unplugged it, carefully checked the paper path and inside the printer for jams or foreign objects, and completed the troubleshooting steps shown on the printer. Nothing fixed the problem and the same error continues to appear at startup. I specifically purchased an EcoTank because I expected a reliable, long-lasting printer. I am extremely disappointed that a printer that has been well cared for failed after only a little over two years. I have now contacted Epson for assistance. Based on my experience, I would not purchase this model again.

Compact size, affordable, and able to see how much ink you're using and not buying ink cartridges ever again is a plus for me.

I love my new printer! It was easy to set up and prints beautifully. The ink is so much cheaper, which is a bonus!
