Our granddaughter needed a printer, her birthday is coming up and I have an Epson Tank Printer. She happen to come out to use our printer, so the wife looked at me and Anna got her birthday present early! She took it home and set up was a breeze. She printed the her project and the printer performed exceptionally good, fast and with a perfect result! She’s an event coordinator and needs good/easy printer performance!! The price was very good too!!

Great Economical Printer

I purchased this Epson EcoTank ET-2840 Special Edition Printer to replace my old Epson Printer that served me well. I have had very good luck and have used Epson printers for years. This was easy to setup and use. It found and connected to my wireless network router.

Love my Epson EcoTank ET-2840 all-in-one printer

Our second EcoTank, the first one (double sided and about 10 years old) still working well but at my office.  Nice, fast, clear printing on this one and pretty intuitive.  Set-up with my computers worked though not as simple as plug-n-play.  Some real improvements but similar enough that I didn't need to start from scratch.  And the price was affordable.

I'm pleased

After getting tired of paying tons for ink cartridges we decided to give this printer a try.  Debated between this one and the less expensive unit, and we're glad we went with this model for its extra features and bonus ink bottles.  Set up was pretty easy and it works great with our Chromebooks, Windows laptop, and iPhone.  I have not used it a lot but from what little I did, it worked great with really fast speed and great quality.  I would highly recommend this printer.

So far, so good!

This is a very nice printer. The only thing I will say is that I had an eco tank before this one and was was much easier to print from my phone. On this new one you have to go into iPrint, then if it's a photo or a document and if you don't do it exactly right it won't print. So the older model I had was much easier to use.

Great printer

Just set it up tonight. It takes a little time to fill the ink and have it do it’s ink initialization but it’s the first time not using cartridges so I’m anxious to see how it goes.  It was easy to set up. I’ve always had an HP printer so I’m excited to see how it goes with an Epson.

New to Epson.

Still new but happy thus far.  Print quality is good. The scanner looses a little resolution when scanning some documents. The system for filling the ink worked very well. Uses a lot of ink to charge the system, (instructions said to be expected).  Happy with the speed of the printer and print quality.  Was pretty easy to connect to our WiFi, 2 computers and smart phone. Good value for the money.

Nice Printer

Replacement printer for one that died. Prints clearly and am loving how easy it is fill ink tanks. Haven’t tried printing photos yet. My only drawback is the screen is very small

Trying a new printer

Printer is working very good.  Had a little problem following installation process.  In unit instructions were not thorough.  Several process steps were missing.  Most were in manual provided with printer, but had to call customer service to get help with installation.  Had problem with wireless interface that the CS tech got resolved.

Printer purchase

I purchased this Epson Eco Tank ET2840 Special Edition printer online from my local Sam’s November deals flyer for about $90.00 off list price.  I don’t know if this is normal but it has to be shipped to me.  It was shipped in the original packaging printer and arrived in excellent condition.

I had been researching eco tank printers from various brand due to extremely high cost of cartridges and the low amount of prints per cartridge on my current HP printer.  I am a paper journal creator and card maker and print lots of colored digitals for my artwork each month.  The cost for ink was killing so finding this Epson Eco Tank for less than $200.00 was a great deal for me.

After using it for about a month and printing lots of colored pages, I have decided this printer to be pretty much an average starter model for home use only.  It will scan/copy fine but if need to fax you will need to look for a different model.  I don’t like the fact that it will not print borderless prints nor automatically duplex but, I can deal with workarounds for the price.  It also will not print on heavy weight card stock another workaround.  The paper feeds from the back of the printer and holds about 100 sheets of copier paper and much less for heavier paper so lots of refilling if you print a lot.

The general print quality is not too bad, however, the sharpness and accuracy of color is not very good.  It is especially noticeable with reds not being what I consider a vibrant true red. I haven’t tried printing photos yet but don’t really have a lot of faith the colors will print true so will stick with my HP for photos. Oh, compared to other printers I have had over the years, I have had do a lot of maintenance cleaning the print heads, which is extremely annoying and uses up ink.  

The ink for this Epson is a lot cheaper and lasts longer than my HP cartridges.  For roughly $42.00, I can buy all 3 colors for the Epson vs. $105.00 for all 3 color XL cartridges for the HP. I don’t have to be a cautious what I print with the Epson and no fear of ruining out of ink mid project.  

While I am glad I bought this printer as an introduction to eco tank printers in the future I will do more research and save up my money to buy one that duplexes automatically and prints borderless but that is just my needs.

It’s For A Starter Model

I haven’t had a chance to use the printer yet. After a complete setup it said the software needed to be updated. Upon updating the software, the printer was accidentally unplugged. Now it’s frozen saying a malfunction occurred. I checked online and determined  I now needed an usb cable (does not come with one) to connect to computer to fix problem. Only it didn’t fix it. I emailed them for help only to still be at a standstill. I will CALL today before 4pm (helpline is not available after 4pm) hopefully I can get this resolved and be able to Use the printer. Otherwise it was a waste of money
