Eco tank lovers

Very nice printer easy to work. being able to connect your phone to it via WiFi makes printing even easier. The eco tank is great was able to fill up and still have ink left. Plus you get more black ink which is great. Replacement ink isn’t costly either.

Epson Eco Tank ET-2840

I like the way it prints, the initial set up was easy: unpacking, adding ink. The wireless connection was not as easy as I had planned. It took hours on and off, called Customer support who were very professional but it took more than one call before I received the links to download the updated drivers and software to my computer and phone both are Apple products. Since I was successful in getting that completed the printer works great, I can print wirelessly from my laptop or my iPhone, I can scan and copy effortlessly. It dose not seem to use much ink when printing time will tell, I am happy with my purchase at the price I got at Sam's.

Disappointed in this printer

I’ve had many printers. This is a huge disappointment. Doesn’t print double-sided. The colors are faded. I had trouble making copies. Not user friendly. Won’t buy Epson again. Just bought an HP in additional. It is more reliable. I run a home business and this printer doesn’t cut it

It’s For A Starter Model

I purchased this Epson Eco Tank ET2840 Special Edition printer online from my local Sam’s November deals flyer for about $90.00 off list price. I don’t know if this is normal but it has to be shipped to me. It was shipped in the original packaging printer and arrived in excellent condition. I had been researching eco tank printers from various brand due to extremely high cost of cartridges and the low amount of prints per cartridge on my current HP printer. I am a paper journal creator and card maker and print lots of colored digitals for my artwork each month. The cost for ink was killing so finding this Epson Eco Tank for less than $200.00 was a great deal for me. After using it for about a month and printing lots of colored pages, I have decided this printer to be pretty much an average starter model for home use only. It will scan/copy fine but if need to fax you will need to look for a different model. I don’t like the fact that it will not print borderless prints nor automatically duplex but, I can deal with workarounds for the price. It also will not print on heavy weight card stock another workaround. The paper feeds from the back of the printer and holds about 100 sheets of copier paper and much less for heavier paper so lots of refilling if you print a lot. The general print quality is not too bad, however, the sharpness and accuracy of color is not very good. It is especially noticeable with reds not being what I consider a vibrant true red. I haven’t tried printing photos yet but don’t really have a lot of faith the colors will print true so will stick with my HP for photos. Oh, compared to other printers I have had over the years, I have had do a lot of maintenance cleaning the print heads, which is extremely annoying and uses up ink. The ink for this Epson is a lot cheaper and lasts longer than my HP cartridges. For roughly $42.00, I can buy all 3 colors for the Epson vs. $105.00 for all 3 color XL cartridges for the HP. I don’t have to be a cautious what I print with the Epson and no fear of ruining out of ink mid project. While I am glad I bought this printer as an introduction to eco tank printers in the future I will do more research and save up my money to buy one that duplexes automatically and prints borderless but that is just my needs.

Possibly a waste of money?

I haven’t had a chance to use the printer yet. After a complete setup it said the software needed to be updated. Upon updating the software, the printer was accidentally unplugged. Now it’s frozen saying a malfunction occurred. I checked online and determined I now needed an usb cable (does not come with one) to connect to computer to fix problem. Only it didn’t fix it. I emailed them for help only to still be at a standstill. I will CALL today before 4pm (helpline is not available after 4pm) hopefully I can get this resolved and be able to Use the printer. Otherwise it was a waste of money

New to Epson.

Just set it up tonight. It takes a little time to fill the ink and have it do it’s ink initialization but it’s the first time not using cartridges so I’m anxious to see how it goes. It was easy to set up. I’ve always had an HP printer so I’m excited to see how it goes with an Epson.

Super easy set up!

I picked one of these up at Sam's because they had the best price in town and my friend who calls me when she has tech issues (frightening!) purchased one and has had no issues since I helped her set it up several months ago. Bottled ink makes so much sense! It is compact, half the size of the old printer. It may not have all the bells and whistles, but I never used all those anyway and didn't want to pay for them either.

Don’t do it!

Very hard to set up. Tiny screen to try and navigate through setup. Don’t like that I can only scan one document at at time. Takes forever. I would not have purchased this printer if I knew these things prior to purchasing. My HP all in one, which I had for 12 years was a much better printer. I don’t care how much I save on the ink, it’s not worth it.

Economical to operate with good print quality

This printer uses tanks instead of cartridges and this reduces the operating cost. It is more than good enough for printing documents. The quality of printed pictures is also reasonably good, provided that you use a photo quality paper and the corresponding profile. I'm using old-stock satin/luster (Ultra Pro Luster and Satin X) paper from the company Red River with good results. B&W pictures have a color cast that is not too unpleasant. Results might be better with Epson paper, but I can't tell for sure since I haven't use it. Printing is relatively slow. Setting up was ok. Built quality is mediocre.
