Salmon

Oh my goodness my husband smoked this and it was so delicious. I never eat salmon, because of the fishiness. But I ate this and enjoyed it so much. Red Sockeye and wild caught were the reasons we purchased it in the first place.

Poor Quality

I was very disappointed with this product. I like to purchase the whole fillet of salmon so I can cut down the portions myself. Normally, the salmon would have a nice thickness to them and they would come out perfect and delicious. However, this one was so thin and small it was ridiculous. It also dried up quickly with how thin it was. Not a fan of this. I purchased through online ordering for pick up. I guess this is what happens when I purchase it this way, they just give you the crappy product. Quality really wasn't their priority.

Delicious LOX!!!

I only work with ingredients that are worthy of my efforts, and that I would eat. Organic ingredients whenever possible, prime beef, and wild caught fish are very i mportant to me. I was very interested in attempting to make my own lox, and I watched the YouTube videos of Alton Brown and Bradley Robinson (aka Chuds BBQ) to gain the knowledge necessary to pull it off. My first surprise was when I opened the package and found that there were TWO fillets packed. I followed the instructions in the videos to the letter and the lox I made were far superior to any that I had purchased. I highly suggest making your own lox. The ingredients are few (Salt, brown sugar, black pepper, and salmon), the process is extremely easy, and the results are well worth your time, money, and effort.

Dry and tasteless

It was noticeably drier than Salmon from Publix. I won't buy it again. Usually Salmon has an tasty oily flesh, this was dry and bland. I cooked it the same way I cook Salmon from Publix and it's night and day. It's right on the line of throwing it out and going out to eat.
