As an esthetician, I have only seen skin become incredibly dried out and irritated by this product. It strips the skin of its natural oils, and can cause irritation through repeatedly using salicylic acid every day. Yes, the price point is good. But the product does more harm than good over time.

I bought this product after my sister starting using it. It works great for her, so I thought I'd give it a try. I have been using Proactive for 3 months and that has been working great but I have been looking for a less time consuming and expensive face wash. After using this for 2-3 days, a rash appeared on my face. I had small bumps which you couldn't really see but when you would tough my skin, it would feel like a dry and tough. I don't know whether to keep trying this product or to keep looking for others.

Overall, this is a very effective facial cleanser, it has a light scent which won't bother those that are sensitive to strong smells, the pricing isn't too bad. The packaging and ingredients are very transparent which can be very helpful for many people.

The product is very light on the skin and doesn't strip all oils completely preventing dry skin. If anything the skin feels moisturized after a cleansing. This is easily the best acne wash that I've found. I've been using it for two weeks and it has helped with my breakout and stopped new acne. I do concur that it will dry out your face- originally after just a couple days of use skin around my nose, mouth and eyes started peeling. But I stopped applying it there as I don't get acne there anyway, and that's not a problem anymore. Be careful with this stuff as it's powerful, but if nothing else works, this is definitely the best option. And the Sam's Club 2 pack is a great value too!

First of all I absolutely LOVE this product! I don't wear any makeup on my face except for mascara & lipstick & my daily sunblock (which is probably why my face is so clear# but I still have combination skin, meaning oily & dry but Neutrogena has always helped my skin be as beautiful as it can be and control it all. I've been using this product #along with many other Neutrogena products) since I was in middle school & now I am a freshman in college and because of my daily routine I have very clear, soft, smooth skin for someone who comes from a family where acne is a HUGE problem. I do stress very often, I am human you know? I breakout just like everybody else. But mostly when I do it's because of obvious reasons, that time of the month, & when that time comes it's quite a few breakouts on my forehead & cheeks. & let me tell you, last month I had what was probably the worst breakout in my entire life! With all this weather changes & extreme humidity my skin became soo unbalanced but because of this product my acne is WAAAAY under control now. No redness, irritation, blotchiness, unevenness of any kind. I feel like single pore has been washed out completely every single time I wash my face with this! & I love to apply my On-The-Spot acne treatment after I'm done cleansing. It's unfortunate how this doesn't work for everyone but I'm glad it works for me! Thanks to Neutrogena everyone is ALWAYS complimenting my on my beautiful, clear skin, BEST PRODUCT EVER!!

My son is a pre-teenager and start to have a Lot of acne on his face. I have brought Neutrogena oil-free acne for him to wash his face. I also used it too for my daily face wash. It was an affordable to buy any store. As free using it, it's helping my son's face, it helps yo control the breakouts. Keep is face dry and clean.
