for the price i did not expect the quality of this generator, well made heavy and the reasons i bought this was the engine size 274cc, the 4.7 gallon gas tank and the ability to run it off a propane tank. its almost like they are offering these at a low price so people will try them and buy more. if so it is a great sales program.

Just purchased WGen5300sc Generator. I installed the mounting feet and wheels. Added the engine oil, put gas in the tank, connected the battery for the electric starter. In the first try the generator fired right up. Hopefully, I won't have any future problems 🤞

This generator has served us very well through a few hurricanes over the years, as well as power for some household projects. We've only run off gas, not propane. We liked its ease of use so much we installed an emergency circuit to plug the machine straight in to the house. Maintenance is easy to perform ourselves and we just make sure to start it up and run it every few months. We are able to run a good amount of circuits in our home with this generator - minus stove and AC.

Very happy with the wgen5300 duel fuel generator . I really like the electric start with remote key fob. I can start or stop it from inside the house instead of going out in the cold. It is small in size but I can run a refrigerator, chest freezer, gas furnace, router, tv, and all the lights I want. I ordered the separate wheel and handle kit because it is too heavy to drag around when you need to move it.

Bought this several years ago we hardly get bad weather down in South Texas started it up today and it started quickly And is working great finally got to use it and I’m glad I had it here

I bought this generator last year never used it had to use it this August during after a tornado it worked for eight hours then wouldn't start again after I put gas in it I don't know what the problem is but I need to have it fixed I had to go out and borrow a generator from somebody else cause my power was out please help me with this problem I believe it might have something to do with the CO detector

I have only used this generator maybe 4 times over the 4 years I have had it, and I have started it maybe a total of 8 times. We have some big storms coming, I tried to start it to test it to make sure it would start, and the internal plastic parts of the Recoil Starter broke. I cannot believe this part was designed with plastic. I checed online and some people have replaced the Recoil Starter 3 and 4 times. You all need to redesign the Recoil Starter with metal internals. I would gladly pay extra to not have to deal with this.

Received mine Sept 14 2020. Followed the instructions to a tee and went thru the generator checked and double checked before starting. Hooked up my LP tank and 3rd pulled fired right up and I was stoked. Upon starting noticed white smoke bellowing from exhaust. Said to myself probably got tossed around in shipping so I will wait during my 1hr break in with no load according to manual. After 30min still blowing white smoke so I continued on with the break in period. After 1hr of running still blowing white smoke so I shut it off and checked oil level. Dip stick showed it had dropped well below half way mark on the cross hatches. Next day went to fire it up again in case tinker bell had some how fixed the issue during the night. Once started continued to blow smoke and after 10 min shut it down. Each time I shut it off I would wait 30min to 45min for the oil to settle so i could check. But this time dip stick showed oil well below, this told me it was burning oil fast. Drained what ever oil was left to get ready for return and could tells significant oil loss which told it was a internal problem in the motor. Contacted Westinghouse CS in regards to the issue on Sept.14th. 2020 and she started and opened a case #SC64858. Told me a technician would get back with me. As of writing this Sept.19th 2020, still no one has gotten back with. Generator was returned.

I ordered this generator to take to family in Louisiana after Hurricane Ida. The generator was delivered to me in a horrific condition. I’ll let the attached pictures speak for themselves. Westinghouse customer service is horrible. I’ve been waiting on a response from them for over a week. I just called again yesterday and a third part service is answering and just taking messages. Do not buy any Westinghouse product if you’re looking for good customer service. I know they have slot of positive reviews on the website but that’s because they give you a free generator cover if you complete a review with omg the first 30 days of purchase. What really goes wrong within the first 30 days unless you receive a beat up unit like I did which you can see by the pictures I’m posting.

Frame was poorly made , the nuts welded to the frame to attach the feet were crooked, so you couldn’t put the bolts in without stripping or breaking them off.
