Runs well and solid power

I am still in the initial 5 hour break in process so I have not put a heavy load on the generator yet but here are my thoughts so far. 1. Assembly was really straight forward and easy, two wheels, two feet, and add the oil and fuel. 2. The generator took a bit to get started the first time but has been easy to start since. 3. I have manually started, easy to pull, used the remote, which was already synched, and used the push button. 4. Power output seems consistent and clean, I powered my compressor, refrigerator, and space heater, not all at once, to vary the load and it handled it all just fine and the equipment seemed to run fine on the generator power. 5. It is not light but rolls around very easily even in the grass. 6. My only "complaint" is that it is fairly loud. It is a good sized generator but I was hoping it was a bit more quiet.

Excellent generator with great features

We recently purchased this generator after being without power for 23 hours, and the number of features, the watts, other excellent reviews and Westinghouse name made this generator an easy decision. We will get use out of it for years to come and won't have to worry about anymore storms knocking out our power.

Runs Great

Unpacked, mounted wheels, oiled, and gassed up. Started using fob right away. Electrician updated electrical service and we tried the generator out using gasoline. It ran my 4 ton split unit ac by itself with no problem. Then tried all 4 burners on stovetop at once (2 double and 2 single) by themselves with no problem. Haven't tried anything else yet. Hopefully I won't have to.

Great Generator, remote start is amazing

I bought this recently, and have been very happy with it. We live on top of a hill and are prone to losing power in bad storms. I pop the generator out of the shed and can run a couple of fridges, lights, and our phones off of it. So happy, and it happens often enough, I am putting in a transfer box to make the switch-over even easier. I really like the remote start/stop. I can run the generator for an hour or two and turn it off from the couch!

Great features. Beautiful, well built unit.

Hurricane season is upon us so thought I should invest in a portable generator. After much research I decided on the Westinghouse WGen9500DFc. The generator was received in perfect condition. Well packaged and protected. The instructions to attach the front feet and wheels and add the oil were easy to follow and only took a few minutes. They included all the necessary tools and even a funnel to use to add the oil. Well done! Attached the battery connectors and added some fuel. The generator started right up. I let it run for about 10 minutes and it ran very well. I am very happy with this purchase.

More than expected

Very pleased with the features and construction. While not exceptionally knowledgeable about generators, I believe I know quality when I see it. After my last (and much smaller) generator died only 1 day into a 2 week power outage due to a severe ice storm, I knew I needed to do better. With electric and even remote start, this is a much anticipated gift to myself and my family. It's also large enough that I hope (appropriately I believe) to power everything needed in my house with the possible exception of the heat pump. If I want to later, I understand I can also purchase a soft start kit for that that is supposed to limit the start up current to a level that this can handle. Once I finish wiring my breaker panel for the inlet box and installing an interlock kit, I'll look forward to the next power outage!

Peace of mind finally

We have a smaller 4000 watt generator. But after going through a week a sub-freezing temperatures in south central Texas last winter, realized we needed something more capable to power the whole house in case of that or a hurricane. Now this generator may not run everything all at once, but it will definitely run everything we have and keep us comfortable. I also love the fact of having the ability to use either gasoline or propane. The only issue I had was one of the 10mm nuts where the rubber foot mounts to the bottom was incorrectly welded and had weld material in the threads. Ended up just replacing it with a regular 10mm nut and bolt from the hardware store. Aside from that, the initial setup instructions were very good and the generator started right up. Very pleased with our purchase

Upgraded from a smaller Westinghouse generator

I upgraded from a smaller Westinghouse generator after we weathered the winter of 2020 in the ice storm. Wife was sold! We got this because it had the remote start and had more voltage just to help us out. We don't have a large house, we have a two and a half ton AC which it powers handily. Just be aware that it will not handle resistant heat from a heat pump. Will not handle an electric water heater. Not many generators will and certainly not in combination. We piped in natural gas and that feeds the generator and the gas water heater. So it's the best of two worlds. Westinghouse has a great reputation and I have not seen anybody complain about them. I did power the house AC during the summer along with various items I would use normally with no issues. It did struggle with the dryer, but again that's to be expected under the circumstances. Just be aware of the limitations of your generator and you should be good. I wholeheartedly recommend this generator, and my best friend bought one based on my recommendation and what he has seen us do with the generator. That is a pretty good statement about the generator.

So far impressed

Purchased the Westinghouse 9500DF February 2023 and so far have put 4 hours on the unit, before power was restored to my dwelling. I have nothing bad to say about the generator as of now. Unit appears to be well built and made with the consumer in mind. User friendly and most importantly love the versatility with the duel fuel option.

Loving to Remote Start!

I just received my new generator and I am impressed by the dual fuel options. More important it is so easy to start with the remote or the push button. While you still have the option to pull start, it is awesome that you do not have to. I am going to purchase another for my mom.
