I recently bought the 9500DFc generator because every westinghouse product I've purchased is still working today! every aspect of this purchase was exceptional, from the packaging for shipping to the excellent craftmanship only confirmed my expectations. The product works great.

I bought this generator a year ago to be hurricane ready. Luckily we made it through this season without the need. I had a transfer switch and external plug added to the house. I am right now sitting in the house with the power off and the generator running. The air conditioner is on along with anything else I want to turn on. The generator is running the whole house. This thing is great, I'm so glad I bought it.

This generator has done a fantastic job supplying all our power needs for building a barn in our pasture. No problem running an air compressor and several power tools simultaneously. Extremely happy with the portability and capabilities of this generator. Wish I would have bought it years sooner. I have recommended this generator to multiple friends.

After serious research we decided on this product and happy that we did. The overall power and two fuel options really make the difference. Just in time for some serious weather that has power outage potential. Even though we can't hardwire in at this time the option to do so to run the entire home is awesome. Even though the unit is pretty heavy its easy to move with the wheels and the size is smaller and more compact than I expected. Some reviews said it was loud but it doesn't seem too bad for what you're getting in power return. Planning on having this generator for years to come for whatever emergency arises.

Arrived with damaged packaging and dents to control panel and generator cover on end. Removed cover inspected for damage to wires and repaired cover Added oil and fresh gas to generator. Opened gas valve, several attempts to start were unsuccessful. Started up after a shot of starting fluid and ran without any problems for 1 hour. Shut down and changed oil for rest of break in period. Packaging could be much better, will update after rest of break in and if I receive the generator cover as advertised in the paper work included with product for doing this review.

I only purchased this 4 days ago, but I am already thrilled with it. The same day I got it, I pulled it out of the box, put the wheels and feet on. (Very simple I might add, and everything I needed to do it was included.) Then I proceeded easily attach the battery power with the snap fitting on it, add the oil, gasoline, turn on the fuel cutoff valve, flip on the power ready switch, and I pushed the start button on the remote key fob. Voila!, it started right up on the first try, and the amperage meter quickly topped out at maximum wattage. I don't have a transfer box on my 1800 square ft house yet, so I thought I would just experiment with a few appliances. I plugged in two full size refrigerators, two mini fridges, my washer, my dryer, and the five big screen televisions that are in the house. I also added two electric fireplaces, and just for kicks, three computers, and a couple space heaters. This thing is a Beast! it didn't even measure half of it's capacity. I am confident that when I do plug it in to the whole house circuit box, it will have no difficulty in performing at a satisfactory level. This in my opinion is a must buy..

Bought the generator for the house and RV. Tested the genny today, plugged into the 20 amp circuit and tested each roof top unit and the genny didn't flinch at all. Much to my surprise I was able to start the A/C units using the thermostat in auto mode. Even at camp sites with a 30amp receptacle I have trouble, so the generator performs well. If the performance is good on the 20 amp circuit, the 50 amp with a dog bone to 30amp should be great. The generator is a little fiddly to get going on propane but straight out of the box it started with no issues on propane. It can cough and splutter trying to start with the key fob. While I find the fob a neat gadget, I find I still need to move and place the generator and then throw the breakers to make it supply electric. Also the "ignition switch" does need to be in the on position to utilize the fob, and there could be the possibility of running the starting battery down. However, with this being said, the onboard Onan marquis LP on the motorhome can be a bit of a task to get going. So comparing the 2 side by side, the Westinghouse starts right up. As far as the Westinghouse brand goes, I have had a Westinghouse LCD TV from 2007, still functioning flawlessly, been aggressively transported to other homes etc and has stood the test of time and still works well. In conclusion, following the user manual and maintenance intervals there really shouldn't be an issue with operating the generator for years to come.

Purchased this last month for PG&E's PSPS. Used twice so far with no problems. I am running on propane only and am seeing 12 hours run time on a 30 pound propane tank. Just did my 25 hour oil change. Love the features and versatility. I did have to disconnect the neutral from ground in order to make it work with my house transfer switch but that was super easy to do.

Setting up was simple. I had to manually move the choke lever even though it supposed to do it on its own when using electric start. Maybe it'll choke automatically next time, but not a big deal. It fired right up and also worked with the remote. It's about as noisy as my 5,000 running watt Coleman, so not too bad. I tested the 30 amp outlet and it worked fine. I also have a 50 amp breaker back feeding to main panel with a manual interlock. I haven't tried it yet cause it's pouring our way. All in all, I'd recommend this to my friends.

Just purchased - Love the large capacity and dual fuel option. Easy set up and intuitive controls. Unfortunately it came with a large dent in the tubular cage from shipping, the box was undamaged. Would have been a five star would it not have been for the damage.
