I bought this WGen9500 after the recent freeze and power loss in south Texas. I used the Westinghouse WGen3600 during that storm and, although it worked great for the three days of lost power, I need additional power to run an air conditioner during the approaching hot hurricane season. The WGen9600 will be perfect for future hurricane seasons. I am very impressed with Westinghouse generators.

The generator is easy to maneuver in tight storage area as well as easy to tuck out of the way.The flex fuel feature is also very convenient and the capacity of the unit fits all of our needs so I am confident that in the upcoming hurricane season I will be ready for all power outages.

Comes with everything you need to get going ! ( Oil , Funnel, wrenches, battery charger, propane hose ) cranked right up first try & runs great. Having 50/30/20 amp outlets means this thing can do whatever you throw at it ! No regrets with my purchase , you won't either.. stop looking & add to your cart !

We experience severe storms many times a year and power can go down for hour or days if power lines are effected. Needed a larger generator to power most of the house and this 9500DF Westinghouse has been wonderful. Starts easily, runs quieter than my smaller Honda and handles everything I need for 8hrs+ on a full tank. Have only used used gas so far, but nice to know I can also use propane tanks should roads get too bad to get fuel. It is heavy but easy to maneuver with standard handle. Highly recommend this for emergency power needs that can be short or long in duration

It has enough output to run the whole house and not just a few appliances. The dual fuel feature is very nice because it allows for continuous operation using two propane tanks with automatic switch over regulator. No more shutting off, cool off, refuel, resume! It can keep running with a full propane tank while the empty one is replaced.

This is a great value for the money, purchased as a spare to have on hand. Love the options of auto-start, remote start (fob) and manual. Never used Propane but instructions were easy to put on the wheels and get started up. Was delivered on time in the window frame selected. Very pleased.

I bought this generator in mid-December as a replacement for a smaller unit. It came two weeks ahead of the scheduled date and I was kept fulling informed of when to expect it. Unpacked it, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The unit is a little heavier than I thought but it rolls around easily on the large rear wheels. The only problem I had is that it wouldn't start. I'm nearly 80 so getting down to tinker with something like this in the cold is a job. I sent the generator to a local small engine shop for starting and a system evaluation. Came back the next day with a clean bill of health. This is something I probably would have done anyway, just for peace of mind. Overall, this seems like an excellent unit with adequate power for our house in a power outage. Everything seems straight forward and well thought out. Time will tell how this unit works out.

The generator has all the features needed runs good, have not had to use it though. The battery charger was crushed during transport maybe. Called the company to see about getting a new one sent but with the holidays we had to open a claim and they will call us back. Hopefully then will be able to write a review.

I have only used this for about 5 hours. I had my electric utility install a 50 amp Generlink behind my electric meter so I can power my whole electrical panel without a transfer switch. My big issue was my 2 ton AC unit which needs 50 amps to start up. That 50 amps would have used all of my 50 amps come through Generlink so I could not power anything else in my home. In comes Micro-Air Soft Starter with bluetooth. I installed this Micro-Air Soft Starter device on my AC in about 20 minutes and my AC starting amps are now 17 amps with running amps of 6 amps. Now I can power my entire home on this generator including my 2 ton AC on propane.

After experiencing this past winter's record storm for Southeast Texas and being totally without power on a rural ranch for several days, plus the fact I'm in hurricane country, I decided to buy a generator in the 9500-12,000 watt class. I researched competing brands and initially ordered another company's 12 kw model. However, after it arrived with no serial number anywhere to be found, and the company's drop down registration menu didn't even show that model, I cancelled the order and sent it back. Finally, after additional research and talking to several people who own the WGen9500DF, I came to the conclusion that it is the best generator available in its power class, and the remote start/stop capability makes it even more user friendly. The generator arrived in perfect condition and took maybe 15 minutes from unpacking to setup. It started on the first crank of the electric starter and is ready to do its job when called on.
