I just purchased this to replace an existing 7000 watt generator that provided 21 years (!) of reliable performance. Having just run that unit for a week straight during an extended storm power outage, it seemed like an appropriate time to retire it and get a new generator. After much research I chose the WGen9500SF. I wanted additional wattage, and especially wanted the ability to run on propane in addition to gasoline. I have a 500 gallon propane tank on my property, so with a longer hose this generator can be set up to run for quite a long while. The push button start and auto-choke features are both very good, and will be helpful in the event that other less technically inclined family members need to operate it. The generator arrived in perfect condition and compared to my old 7000 watt unit, the Westinghouse is actually a bit smaller, and a little quieter. Assembly was very simple and it is nice that the motor oil, funnel, etc. are all included. I've run the generator for 30 minutes or so- It fired up immediately on propane and once I realized that the duel fuel switch has to fully "click" to gasoline, it ran nicely on gas, and can indeed switch "on the fly" between both fuels. I connected to my home's manual transfer panel with my existing 30 amp connector cord and under load, the generator performed perfectly. Next week my electrician will be doing some upgrades so I can connect with a 50 amp connector cord and get the full capacity of the generator.

I brought this generator and glad I did. We have been having alot of storms in my area and needed something temporarily when this occurs. The delivery was smooth, calling before drop off and allowing me to inspect before leaving it. Customer service was helpful as well. Thanks again and if you need a generator this is the one.

Haven’t tried the generator yet because I just unboxed it. Searched a number of generators but came back to this one every time. I hope it works as good as the reviews say. Great looking whole home generator in a convenient small package. Far cry cheaper than a expensive larger unit that has to take up space in the yard full time.

This morning I unpackaged, assembled and test ran the generator. Set-up was super easy and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. After installing the feet and wheels, I added the provided oil, connected the unit to a propane tank and connected the battery. The unit fired up perfectly and easily every time with the electric start button and key fob. Power output worked and I tested the load on power tools, lights and a hairdryer. No issues. Will install electrical plug-in for my panel with an interlock next week. Ready for the Texas storms.

This is my second Westinghouse product (my first was their pressure washer). I am very satisfied with both products. The WGen9500DF started up and was purring in no time. An added benefit I wasn’t expecting is that it runs quieter than the Generac it is replacing. The remote start feature and digital readout places this product ahead of competitive products. Besides the usual running time meter, the digital display provides voltage, frequency, and maintenance reminders. I researched just about every brand in the market and happy that I decided on the Westinghouse. Based on my recommendation, three of my friends just bought the same Westinghouse generator.

I bought this generator to power house during an outage. I have not run gasoline through it yet, only propane. I tested it with a freezer, refrigerator/freezer, furnace, and a few indoor lights. Worked out really well. Ready for a possible outage. Happy with purchase.

Bought the dual fuel generator for security and peace of mind we can weather any storm and power outage that comes our way. I can crank it with the push button start without waiting on husband to crank it. Hope this will last for years. Feels solid and well made!!

I live in Florida and a generator is a "must have" if you want to be prepared. i have a inverter generator but wanted something bigger that could handle more load. I wanted a dual run generator so i would not have to solely rely on gas. I compared several models and this Westinghouse has everything i wanted,50 amp outlet, remote start , dual fuel, gas and propane ,12,500 peak watts,9500 running watts. This will definitely help me be better prepared!

I had to wait awhile due to being on back order. Then the box was damaged when delivered. I refused it and it was taken back and immediately taken care of by the company I purchased it from. Last I had to wait for an electrician to install it. With all the power shut offs by PG&E.We have had three more and more to come during fire season. The first one was three days. It was impossible to find any here. Then every electrician was installing generators. I had to wait in line for 2 months. It was all worth it. The generator ran more than I thought it would with no problem. We were not sure if it would run the air conditioner in the house. IT DID! YES! A large freezer, a refrigerator, all the lights, three TVs, Microwave, blow dryer. Not the washer and dryer, or the stove and oven, in a 1400 SQ foot tr-level. It will cover the pellet stove in the winter also. Truly pleased. The electrician was not sure if it would run the air conditioner. Everyone who sees it likes it!!! THANK YOU.

Purchased this unit for use with RV and have been really thrilled with it. The electric start is very nice also. Power produced is very clean and consistent and have no issues when connecting sensitive electronics. I have heard quieter generators, but for its power output capacity the operational noise is no concern to us I would definitely recommend this unit to others. My first Westinghouse product, but certainly wont be my last. Great product!
