For a long time I thought about getting a portable back up generator for an emergency. After researching and comparing, it came down to two generator. The Wgen9500DF and a competitor with the same feature. However, the Wgen9500DF had two features ( my wife liked a lot) the other brand didn’t have. The Remote start and the smarts switch box. I bought this generator after the winter storm 2020 hear in Texas. Also they expected the rolling blackouts during the summer so not wanting to be without electric power we decided on this generator to run the whole house. I have tested the generator running the 30 amp twist lock outlet on A wet dry vac and jigsaw and reciprocal saw with no problem. Have not wired to the house yet but will give a follow up review once it is completely connected.

Last ice storm knocked out power for 6 full days, ended up traveling 75 miles to hotel after second day ( freezing ) This time we were prepared ! Purchased a Westinghouse 9500DFc. So glad we did, this last storm / flood no power 4 days….no problem ! Hit the remote start and lights , heat, water and yes TV internet lights. Even had neighbors stay over 2 nites. Best investment you can make. Oh and two fuel gave us confidence that we could last 10 days !!

I love the push button and remote start options. I had a little trouble with the On/Off rocker switch the second time I used it, but after cleaning the contacts it is working as it should. If not for that little hiccup, it would definitely be 5 stars. Reasonably quiet for a traditional generator with this much output power.

My wife and I decided it was time to purchase a generator because of the frequent power outages after storms in Northern California. It is becoming common to lose power for 2-5 days after each storm event. This was starting to become a real hassle and headache, not to mention the loss of food in the refrigerators and freezers. With this generator, we should be able to run most of the appliances, lights, and furnace until the power is restored. The generator came almost ready to power up. All I needed to do was install the wheels and the front mounting feet. All super easy and the tools were included. Next, I need to add the oil, which was also included, then I connected the battery terminals and fired her up. The electric start made it super simple to start, and my wife really appreciated not having to pull the starting cord. We ran it on propane during the start up period, which we did for five hours, because we didn't want it sitting for extended periods of time with gasoline in the tank. We also changed the oil twice during the start up period just to make sure we kept the oil clean during this period. Hopefully we will never need to use it, but it feels great knowing that we have a backup power source in case of emergencies. That piece of mind is worth the cost of the generator!

Received generator in perfect condition. Very nice build quality. Hooked up to propane and fired right up. I'm impressed with the owner manual that came with it. It was one of the most informative manuals I have seen for equipment. We will be using the generator for when the power company shuts off the power for fire danger.

This Is my second WH Generator and I can’t say enough for quality and performance. Upgraded to WGen9500DF. Wanted more output and duel fuel. So far extremely happy as with my first. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great generator for the money. Can’t be beat!

Generator delivered this morning. Came in excellent condition. Followed setup steps, added oil. Ran a startup cycle before adding fuel. Figured this would get oil circulating. Added gas and it started right up. Runs very smooth. I really like the push button start and the remote will perhaps save that late night trip outside to power down when commercial power is restored. So far, overly impressed with the 9500 DF

I bought this generator a little over a month ago, power went out in my moms house attempted to use it for the first time and motor was locked, power cord did not let me pull it, as well as the push to start option did not work. Followed all instructions of manual. Been trying to use the warranty for over a month but still have not been assisted with getting generator fix/replaced!

I bought this recently for a back up for my house and boy does it deliver. I even had my hot tub running and 2000sq ft house running as normal. Of course we are all energy efficient being in California but non the less it is more than enough. The only thing is that is is a little bit loud but I fixed that by building a box with a fan and well ventilation. Helps a lot of you want to run 24/7. Glad we went with this instead of going the very pricey route.

I recently purchased the WGen9500DF for home backup. I'm please with the features of remote start, electric start, dual fuel and very easy assembly (15 minutes). I also appreciate the small details of items like ball bearing wheels and high-quality rubber feet to help protect the generator.
