My son in law bought a small generator during a power outage and had to run the refrigerator and window air conditioner in shifts. For a little more I equipped my home with the Westinghouse 9500 and am able to power most everything during a power outage. The remote start, alternate fuel source and multiple outlets make using it family friendly usage for all.

I BOUGHT THE IGEN2500 4 MONTHS AGO AND COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR ONE TO POWER MY WHOLE HOUSE AND RUN ON PROPANE. THIS WILL DO THAT EASILY. IT'S QUIET ENOUGH TO RUN ON MY BACK PATIO THROUGH A TRANSFER SWITCH. THE REMOTE START IS VERY HANDY AT NIGHT! WITH PROPER MAINTENANCE,I WILL BE ABLE TO DEPEND ON THIS GENERATOR FOR A LONG TIME.

I bought this as a back up in case we lose power. Right out of the box you can tell it's well built. It has well thought out features like, remote start and push button start. I have only run it for an hour to break it in but so far I am really liking it and think it should provide many years of service.

Researched a lot before I purchased this unit, it has all the important features.1. Name brand, 2. dual fuel, 3. electric start with remote start, 4. 50A outlet so it can plugged into a whole house system, 5. digital display, 6.low oil shut off, 6. overload shut off, 7. CO shut off. This generator will power my 3.5 ton Trane a/c 5200w, refrigerator 800w, TV 500w, modem, and lights 100w. An electrician will install the 50A outlet and whole house surge protector. I have only done test runs on this unit, but it seems to run well. My neighbor has owned several generators, he is jealous, so I guess that I picked a good unit.

Bought in Dec 2019 to prepare for hurricane season. Also hired electrician to install interlock switch and transfer switch on house. Small hurricane side swiped us (hurricane Sally) and lost power. Time to remove from shipping box, hook up LP fuel source, plug into house only took 30 mins. Cranked in 2 pulls! Remember, I had to unpack it and use it for the first time. 30 mins was fast. Lots of power...ran 3 freezers, 2 refrigerators, all lights, tv, and small window mounted A/C. I absolutely recommend the generator.

I just got this generator so I can’t give a review for long term use, but it has amazing features and is very well made. It was not complicated to set up and worked right out of the box. As it stands, I would definitely recommend it! The remote start is very cool too :)

I am so happy about this generator. Westinghouse spared nothing on the quality of this unit. The instruction manual was very well laid out and easy to follow on the assembly of the unit after it was delivered. Follow the clear instructions to set up the generator for its initial start up, and it fired up perfectly. I was so impressed that they included a battery charge with this unit to keep the battery charged if your not running the generator on a regular basis.....Nice Touch! The quality and workmanship are above the competition on this unit. Tried out the propane and it was seamless switching from gasoline....not even a hiccup! Thank you Westinghouse...you made a lifetime customer out of me!

I bought this generator a month ago. It was easy to place the wheels and get it into working shape. Fortunately, we have not had to use it yet for a power outage, but we are fully prepared should we have a shutoff at any time. We are very happy with this product - it appears to be the most efficient and cost-effective of all the portable generators we considered. Furthermore, since it runs on either propane or gasoline, we have a lot of flexibility.

Bought this unit at the end of last year and haven't touched it until hurricane Isiais knocked out our power for almost a week. Started right up, ran on both LP and gasoline and kept our refrigerators running without issue. Nice selection of outlets, compact size and remote start are all great features.

I bought the 9500df unit after a series of tornados left us without power for days. There are few generators out there that fulfilled my wish list. As to add more value for purchasing a generator, I wanted one that could not only could power our home in a outage, as that really doesn’t happen very often, and power our 37’ camper. As just a couple months back our campground power was knocked out when a tractor took out an electric pole. The 9500 comes with 50amp service plug, perfect for our camper. Unboxing and just glancing this is a sharp looking and well built unit. Assembling the foot pegs and wheels is so easy, even a cave man could do it. It was nice they ship it with all you need to assemble it but found the wrench to be tedious so I used my ratchet instead. The instructions read well and are simple to follow, and the unit fired up right away with a touch from the key fob remote start. I have yet to try running the house, but did test run it using on the camper… it ran the 15,000 btu a/c and 2 refrigerators without a hiccup. I didn’t run 2nd a/c as unit was not “broke in” yet but looking at the numbers it could run that as well. As it is nigh winter here I also ran the furnace with no problems and the electric fireplace. My only gripe with this unit is the placing of the 50 amp receptacle, as 50 amp cords are big and rv power cords are 90 degrees from plug. The 50 amp plug is positioned above the wheels of the unit and it can be a little struggle to get plugged in. Looking at the face of unit with all the outlets, it looks like the 50 amp service could be raised on future models to help this out, although it may not be as aesthetically appearing as having them all lined up. Overall great unit with plenty of outlets, on occasion I volunteer for habitat for humanity, there’s no need to have splitters or unplug one tool to operate another as you can easily run separate cords to different work stations and still have an outlet to charge tool batteries. And the folding handles and wheels allow the unit to be moved easily if need be, even through grass.
