Just bought this unit, but haven't had a chance to try it out fully yet. Looking forward to trying out all of the different features for different uses. Live in a hurricane area so want something dependable. Would update review once I get to test it.

I bought this last month, just in time for the hurricane season in FL. It took a couple weeks to arrive. The unit looks nice, is sturdy built and I love that I can use either gas or propane. I’m not as worried now about losing power as this unit gives me peace of mind.

This is the second Westinghouse generator I have purchased. I've had the Westinghouse iGen2500 for several years that I have used for camping and outings were minimal power is needed but it also needs to be quiet. I just bought the WGen9500DF for portable home backup as I live in Florida and can lose power with hurricanes and tropical storms. Terrific generator with some really nice features. The battery charger, fold down handle and propane fuel capability along with the remote start made it easy for me to choose another Westinghouse Generator.

Arrived today. Removed from pallet and had wheels and legs on in about 15 minutes. Completed setup within about another 15 minutes. Fired up on first try. Ran it for about 30 minutes with various low load items for testing/break in and everything worked as expected. Will update review if anything changes after first its really needed.

Delivery was on time. Super easy to assemble: Install the wheels, front legs, put a little gasoline, turned the gas tank shut off valve to the "ON" position, connected the battery, filled the motor with 10-30 engine oil that came with it. We plan to us the GEN. as a backup power and storage it long term with little to no use: Thus we put very little fuel in the tank to avoid having to siphon it out and not leave gas inside the tank to rot during its long term storage period. As a result it did not start at first, due to the small amount of fuel in the tank. We also realized the Gen was sitting on a very slight slope, causing the small amount of gas to gravitate away from the shut off valve which is the intake for the Carb. - so Fuel was not reaching the carb./Engine. Once we turned the Gen. around sloping it the other way, this allowed the small amount of fuel to reach the shut off valve, , it fired right up. Put a load on it, performed like a champ. Switched to Propane and same thing, ran perfect. No complaints here. This looks to me to be a quality made unit and the 50AMP outlet is just what we needed.

This generators exudes quality from the time you see the box delivered. It weighs well over 200 lbs before fuel and oil, but that weight reflects the quality construction and accessories. It’s well-designed and includes everything you need including a quart of 10W-30 engine oil (which was a pleasant surprise!), a funnel, remote start key fob, LPG hose. This thing is incredibly compact and rugged. I was worried the wheels and feet would be too cheap to support the item’s weight, but I was relieved to see the included screws and components were heavy-duty construction. I’ve never owned or used a generator before (my son has this model which he likes and recommended I get the same one), but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. All I needed to provide was gas with a bit of fuel stabilizer added. I put in about 5 gallons just to begin, although the tank holds over 6 gallons. Once I followed the set up instructions, it was easy to start. I was happy to see the battery was shipped with a full charge. It started right away and I let it run for about 7 minutes to break it in and let the fuel/stabilizer work its way through. My electrician will be installing a connection to my house within a couple weeks. When he found out what brand/model I bought, he said I made a good choice. I’m very happy with this generator so far. It’s bringing me and my wife a lot of peace of mind!

My wife has been after me to get a generator for years because we are prone to power outages in our area during the summer and winter. Last fall, we finally got a Westinghouse WGen9500DF and it turned out to be great timing. We put it to good use twice this winter and it kept the important things running for a couple of days each time. Noise level is a bit high but I imagine that is to be expected. Getting it set up and running was pretty easy and can be done by one person. Seems like a product that will last a long time.

So glad I purchased this generator. I was going to purchase the smaller Westinghouse generator but after talking to their customer service representative and for a little more money, I opted for this one. Firstly the delivery was right on time and there were two men delivering this and they were very careful as I watched them from my doorbell camera. As far as the generator, it was packaged very well and nothing was damaged or missing. Super easy to set up. Just installed two wheels and two legs and that’s it. Read all the literature and user manual before using and you’ll be good if you follow the instructions. The generator started right up with no issue. As far as power, this thing ran my condos a/c although it’s a smaller unit, it had no problem powering it as well as lights fridge and tv with ease. Make sure you check all the appliances power consumption ratings to make sure you’re within the proper range. I decided I would take it to my shop to try my welder on it. The generator rolls very well and I had no problem wheeling to my shop behind my house. Again this generator met the challenge with ease. This has many perks ( electric, remote and pull start as well as dual fuel etc ). I emailed Westinghouse’s customer service prior to purchasing to ask a few questions and they replied right away. You can feel confident buying this generator. Westinghouse has a great product and their customer service is spot on. No regrets here.

We anticipate this generator will meet all of our power needs except HVAC in the event of a hurricane and long power outage. It has all of the power and features we need without the high price of a permanent generator. We'll be running it from and underground propane tank and with a transfer switch to our panel. We're happy with our purchase.

Runs great. Loads of power. Had a problem with no start right out of the box. Contacted support. Problem was easily resolved by removing and then manually activating the solenoid plunger on the bottom of the carb float. Reconnected the solenoid. Started right up. Shouldn't have been a problem, but I'm satisfied with the result.
