Just bought this as my first generator. I did a lot of research, and this model had everything I was looking for. The packaging when I opened the box was very nicely done. The generator was not marked at all. After an easy setup it started on the first try. I tested both gas and propane, as well as the electric, recoil, and remote control start. all worked on the first try. Looking forward to many years of use!

We bought this unit in February. We have a 1300 sq foot cabin in a remote area where power outage is common. I have had several occasions to test it out. It has performed flawlessly. We have a 30 amp plug outside the house for a camper hookup. We use that to back feed the house breaker panel. When the power goes out, we shut down the main, shut off the hot water heater and dryer, and turn on the 30 amp from the generator. It runs everything else in the cabin with no issue. Including the well pump, and the 2 ton geothermal heat pump. I was hauling the generator from the tractor shed with each outage, but just retrofit a sun cast shed just for the generator, complete with sound insulation, vent fan and exhaust extension. I also ran a direct line from the cabin’s propane tank which we use for the gas logs and grill. No more hauling the generator, no more hauling gas, and it is MUCH quieter. I just flip the run switch to ON and press the start button. My wife is comfortable doing it on her own. I do wish I could use the remote button to start the unit. Then I wouldn’t need to go outside at all. But to use the remote start button, you first have to go outside to turn on the run switch. Kind of defeats the purpose of the remote start button. I called Westinghouse to ask about leaving the run switch on permanently, but they said it powered up 6 different components and would damage the unit if I left it on. Anyway, I am very happy with the 9500df. Lots of power. Starts every time. Dual fuel is a great plus.

This is my second purchase of a Westinghouse and both have been a great experience. We have a smaller one that we have been using with all the recent tornadoes and power outages. It wasn’t big enough to run the air unit and also had to turn everything else off when running the hot water heater. With this new purchase we will be able to run everything at once. Both are Westinghouse and we haven’t had any issue with them.

I bought my first generator about three years ago to use during PG&E's Northern California PSPS. Unfortunately our home is in an area that is usually one of the first to be shut off and one of the last to be turned back on. Everything in our home is electric except heating, without power we have no well, no septic, no refrigerator and no air conditioning. This generator was a great addition as I was able to use it to power our entire home. While I never tried to use our oven there were many occasions it powered the hot water heater, refrigerator, well pump, TV, house lights, modem and AC all at the same time. One of the best features was the remote start as we would shut it off at night. First thing in the morning I would start it and run it for several hours while we would get ready for work. On my way out I would shut it off from my truck and restart it as I pulled back in. If the power was turned off due to a fire in the area it might run continuously for more than eight hours before being shut off to refuel. After a short rest period the generator was back at it. Very dependable, great power, easy to move around and the dual fuel came in very handy when gas stations in the area were also without power.

I have not installed the manual transfer switch to the house, but playing with the generator has went good so far. It started on the first try attached to propane, I have not put gas in it yet. The features associated with it seem to work fine the remote start is a nice feature.

Just unpacked my new WGen9500DF. It was ready to go right out of the box, just had to install the wheels and add oil which was included in the box. With the power outages in Texas I needed a powerful generator to protect my family during winter weather, hurricanes, and long hot summers. So far I am happy with my purchase.

Received generator yesterday. Needed to remove the bonded jumper on the generator for my use. Called support to verify that I was terminating the correct wires. They answered on first ring and were easy to understand. They were familiar with the product, answered my questions promptly and provided me with a safety warning that if I use the generator as a stand-alone that I need to re-bond it prior to use. This is what I consider excellent support.

We chose the WGen9500DF generator for our 3000+ s.f. home in central NH because of our experience with unpredictable winter storms. We wanted a generator with dual power (gas and propane) we can rely on and this Westinghouse is a good bet for a great value! We feel prepared for this and future seasons!

Purchased this generator as a home back up power source. It will run all the essentials and has proved to be a grand purchase. Starts and runs well on gas, however, starting on propane very difficult and causes backfire. Once started on propane, runs great.

I install one of the 9500DF's at my brother's house a year ago and I helped him get it working on 3 fusels (natural gas, gasoline and propane) just a little extra work. The only thing I don't like is doing the wiring. It worked so well that I broke down and bought one for my own home.
