Ahead of the hurricane season this year I hurt my back checking aged generators and thought there had to be a better portable product available. I found it with this dual fuel model. The WGen9500DF not only had great reviews, it’s affordable and versatile yet produces enough power on either fuel source to power all our essentials through any outage and the freedom to run off our home propane or gas, non-ethanol preferred.

This generators exudes quality from the time you see the box delivered. It weighs well over 200 lbs before fuel and oil, but that weight reflects the quality construction and accessories. It’s well-designed and includes everything you need including a quart of 10W-30 engine oil (which was a pleasant surprise!), a funnel, remote start key fob, LPG hose. This thing is incredibly compact and rugged. I was worried the wheels and feet would be too cheap to support the item’s weight, but I was relieved to see the included screws and components were heavy-duty construction. I’ve never owned or used a generator before (my son has this model which he likes and recommended I get the same one), but the instructions were clear and easy to follow. All I needed to provide was gas with a bit of fuel stabilizer added. I put in about 5 gallons just to begin, although the tank holds over 6 gallons. Once I followed the set up instructions, it was easy to start. I was happy to see the battery was shipped with a full charge. It started right away and I let it run for about 7 minutes to break it in and let the fuel/stabilizer work its way through. My electrician will be installing a connection to my house within a couple weeks. When he found out what brand/model I bought, he said I made a good choice. I’m very happy with this generator so far. It’s bringing me and my wife a lot of peace of mind!

The feature set on this generator for this price point is amazing. It will be able to power my entire house when I have and outage. The ability to swap fuel sources on the fly without shutting down is great. My parents have a dual fuel Champion generator and they need to shut it down in order to swap fuel sources. The remote start is a great feature too. I have my generator hookup out by my shed about 75 feet from my back door. All I need to do is preposition this generator before a storm and when the power goes out I can start it from my back door without even going outside.

We recently bought a new home which already had a transfer switch installed for the specific WGen9500DF I purchased. The previous owner kept the WGen9500DF he had the home wired for and I was pleased to learn it provided sufficient power for all of the necessities in the event of a storm, i.e., HVAC, Stove/Oven, Refrigerator and lighting. I hope we never have to use it in the event we need it, but I am comfortable it will meet our needs in the event of a hurricane or other power outage.

I really like the electric push button start, remote start, voltage, hz, hr and maintenance indicators, dual fuel and built in wheel and handle for easy maneuverability. It was impressive that it also came with a battery tender for the electric start battery. I started it when I purchased it using both fuels and it started right up with each. I put varying loads on it and the volts and HZ were right on and didn't vary with changing loads. I added fuel stabilizer and used non oxygenated gas, this is important so the carburetor doesn't get gunked up. I have had to use it 3 times it the first 6 months and it started the instant I hit the switch each time. Very impressive unit.

This thing purrs like mountain lion not a kitten so on a noise level it’s nowhere near as loud as most other portable generators. You can tell it’s well made and it’s comes with a key fob with an electric starter also equipped with manual start. I have the option of running off of propane or fuel. If you need a generator and don’t want spend ridiculous money, buy this!!My home is 2100 sq ft I can run my entire house minus dish washer/washing machine and dryer.

After several weeks of deliberation and reading reviews I decided on the Westinghouse generator for my purchase based on the quality, feature set, and price of this unit in that order. I have a few friends that have the westinghouse brand and they could not speak highly enough of the product. I actually borrowed one from a friend when I knew the power was going to be out for several days and had no problem running everything in my house. After delivery, I was not disappointed. This generator is built to last. Everything about it screams quality. Something as simple as a fuel shutoff being a metal petcock verses a plastic one. Up to 12 hour runtime is way above the rest, this allows me to get a full night sleep while running on generator power instead of waking up to a cold house due to running out of fuel in the middle of the night. Assembly was a breeze. Attaching wheels and legs took less than 10 minutes. I opted on 5w-30 synthetic oil since it can get quite cold in Ohio. Admittedly I have yet to fire this generator up, but based on past experience I feel like this is still a valid review.

I bought the generator a month ago. Took it out of the box, did all the proper assembly and it started right up and runs great. I am very impressed with the unit. The remote start is a great option, plus the dual fuel. The 50amp outlet is good option so I can run our heat and air, a lot of higher end generators only have 30amp.Electrician is coming this week to hook up the interlock system in the house. Never thought I'd say this but I can't wait to lose power and put it to the test.

Just got delivered today. Was packed very well. The box had some damage but the unit was in great shape. Detailed instructions in manual. I really like the dual fuel feature and the automatic start. Haven't had a chance to run it yet but will update review in a couple days. Don't see any reason it won't run fine.

Took delivery on 9/14/21. Out of the box I knew this was a superior machine. To this point the machine works exactly as advertised. To my surprise it came with it's own tender. While testing function & feature, I powerd up some lights, tools an small fridge and a compressor. The machine barely even noticed the load. In an odd way... I'm sort of looking forward to my next outage.
