Well built, and awesome features

This generator ticked all the boxes for me being a good brand, versatile with the dual fuel, high output and had the remote start that I wanted. All that and the price was good. I'm hooking this in to my panel with an interlock kit. Happy with this purchase and ready for when the power goes out.

WGen9500DFc

After a lot of research, I chose the WGen9500DFc. I compared to multiple brands and models. So far, I do not regret my purchase. Westinghouse has simplified the 1st use preparation and unit has worked well. Comes with a very good manual with the needed information for maintenance, as well.

IMPRESSIVE!!

After much research, the WGen9500DF was my selection due to its features and it being a Westinghouse product. The minimal prep went without a hitch, with very good directions. It started and ran on propane with the first try and flawlessly switched over to gasoline without missing a beat. I am currently working on the break in so I can't speak for its reliability but so far I am impressed. Built like a tank.

Excellent Value

I have been searching for a portable generator for a few years now since we were without power a few years ago for a week in Mid December, due to a cold winter ice storm in Michigan. I borrowed a friends 5000W Honda generator and got us through it some what painlessly. He has offered to sell me it but a 25 year old Honda still fetches a hefty price. I wanted a brand name and larger than 5000W. They are all expensive and not getting any cheaper. I just happened on this one and after a thorough search, discovered that it was selling for a very fair price. It is exactly what I was looking for. Got here very quickly, with the box and equipment all in excellent shape. Every thing was there, and what little assembly I encountered was quick and simple. I have only gotten to fire it up and run a few pieces of tools and equipment in the garage for a test, and it has worked flawlessly. When I get my electrical renovation and upgrades done I am looking forward to plugging it in and letting it rip. It will easily handle every thing I deem critical in my home plus plenty of room for additional add ons.

Great running machine

I bought this generator back in January but it was 2 months before I had time to get it up and running. I am off the grid and use it to supplement my solar when needed. It was easy to setup and get started. It worked great and was able to run my house while also recharging the solar batteries.

Initial Impressions Good Generator

I initially looked at Inverter Generators, but very few this size and none I found were dual fuel. I thought this generator was comparable in it's features to most others in this size range. It did however have a bit longer advertised run time than any others. The generator arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. Set up was very straight forward - mount the feet and wheels, connect battery and add engine oil. One issue I did find was the quart of oil supplied with the generator was not enough to fill to the proper operating level. An additional approximate 1/8-1/4 quart was needed. I only tested the generator on propane- with the tank connected and push of the start button and the generator fired right up. One thing to note is that parts of the directions state to press the start button and hold until generator starts- you do not have to do this, you only have to press the start button and release and the generator will try to start 3 times. If it doesn't start within three times, you will have to recycle the start procedure. After starting, I ran a few power tools. You can hear the generator change pitch when starting a tool. Overall I would say the generator is fairly quiet compared to other generators I have heard. The generator comes with all the outlet covers taped down- one of mine on a duplex outlet was taped in a twisted position and will not snap in place over the outlet- this is really the only negative comment I can make about this generator. Otherwise it seems to be a very good piece of equipment.

Easy setup

Took less than 15 minutes to unbox, attach wheels, and add oil. I wanted to see if it would start off the pull start without using the electric start. Easy pull and started within 3 or 4 pull. Electric start is a great feature along with the dual fuel option. Anxious to see how much of the house this unit will power.

Looking for power when there is none. Look no more

Was tired of the power outages in my area so I purchased this generator about a month ago. The dual fuel option is great if you don't have any gas on hand. The engine starts right up with a touch of a button. "That's Nice." I use the 50 amp 240 volt port to power most of my house, including my well pump. Also the portability of it, makes it easy to move out and into my garage. Overall happy with this unit.

Great generator!

I'm very impressed after the first start and usage. The packaging was adequate to protect the generator from minor box damage. It was easy to assemble the wheels and feet. Startup was awesome with the fob, and fairly easily with the pull start. It is loud which is expected but it can make it awkward to move it outside for usage. After running it for an hour with and without load I had no issues. Definitely worth purchasing if your on the lookout for a portable generator with capacity.

WGEN9500DF

This baby runs like a champ! Easily starts via pull chord, push button, or use of a remote at up to 99' distance. Runs my whole house as a backup generator. She's pretty quiet also. And I love that I can run it on gas or propane. Great job Westinghouse!
