I wanted the 50 Amp and dual fuel

I got this last week and it is big enough for me to run my lights and my Well pump, and an AC unit. When my electricity goes out, I have no Water to flush toilet or for drinking due to being on an electric Well. This will supply all the amps and volts and watts I will need to alternate running the Well and the AC. The Well only needs to run a few times in the day to pump up pressure in the tank. No more have to save water in gallon milk cartons just to flush the commode. Thank You Westinghouse! And running on propane is a bonus.

Decent Generator for the money

I bought this a couple of months ago and it has held up to my expectations so far. It isn't the most powerful or the longest lasting generator out there but it is an excellent value for the money, providing a decent amount of power and reliability for a very good price. I am satisfied with my purchase.

WGen9500DF 1st unbox and test

Unboxing was not too difficult Westinghouse should provide a line to cut the carton at the bottom at 200+ it would be difficult to lift out of the box. I cut the bottom so it was easy for one to do it. Wheels and legs went on easy but lean in under the weight of the generator, still rolls OK. 1st startup on gas second crank it fired up, it goes into auto start mode and keeps attempting no need to push button again. I did notice that the auto choke does not completely engage and had to be manually closed to start again on 2nd start up. Propane run was successful and took a few cranks to get it running, but ran great. I have only tested a compressor and leaf blower so far to make sure it works. I will be hooking up to a transfer switch and 50 amp drop to power the critical circuits so i will update after I get that chore done. All and all so far seems like a good purchase. I would recommend so far. Directions are straight forward so any DIY could set it up easy.

Perfect for the cold, wet, windy Oregon weather.

I am replacing a Generac 30amp gas unit with the 9500DF to get the convenience of the dual fuel and higher amps. Right out of the box you can see the quality difference of the units. The manual is clear and concise and leaves nothing unanswered. I found one issue with the manual which I like to read before opening anything. the 50 amp output socket is shown on 2 pages; one has the ground plug up and the other shows it down. Confused me a bit as I am planning on making my own cable and could not find any plugs with the ground down that did'nt have the cable going up which would cause too much strain. Of course once I opened up all the way I could see that the socket is ground pin up. love the GFCIs,as it removes the need for the long grounding stake. Ive had 4 different gens over the years and this is by far the quietest that I've had. don't be mistaken; it's not quiet just the quietest so far. I love the way it starts itself and the fuel switching on the fly. We have several outages here(in the country) and it is really a pain because we never know how long we'll be out of power. In fact it is mid-october and we've had three in the last month. The last one was about 25 hrs and had to refill the old gen 3 times. The dual fuel should end that problem for us.

Easy to setup and easy to use.

My Westinghouse Wgen 9500DFc generator just arrived. I immediately assembled the feet and wheels, which was all the assembly required other than adding oil and plugging in the battery. The assembly was extremely easy but you may need some help lifting and moving the generator until the wheels are on. The instructions are illustrated and easy to understand. I've tested the generator and it starts right up. It runs smooth but it's not quiet. I have no doubt that my 9500DFc will deliver the power I need when I need it during an emergency. The peace of mind that comes with owning a reliable dual fuel (gasoline and propane) generator has already begun. So far I am pleased with the purchase. I highly recommend the Westinghouse Wgen9500DFc.

Great generator

This generator arrived exactly as described - it was easy to assemble and it fired up with the remote on the first try (propane). I plan to only use propane as a fuel source due to the unavailability of higher octane gasoline that has not been contaminated with 15% ethanol resulting in damage to the carburetor.

Awesome Generator

The fit and finish of this generator is really impressive for the price! All controls are easy to use, well thought out and of good quality. You get a lot of nice features for a good price. Just look up best generators and almost all review sites have this generator on their list. You won't be disappointed

Easy assembly, easy start

We are totally solar-“off grid”. After several stormy or overcast days we need to go to the generator. Our last generator was the best one from the tool store known for cheap tools. It lasted a couple of years and died when we needed it the most. I took more time researching this purchase. I like that it is dual fuel. I ran a line from my large propane tank so I don’t have to have cans of gasoline around. It took 5 minutes from the box to ready to start. It has plenty of power to run our home, barn, water pump, etc., it is half as loud as the previous one, and with the “fob” starter, my wife can start it without having to pull a chord!

Dependable & Easyy to use.

Has every hookup that I might need. Easy to start/with remote Easy to hook up to my propane tank. First time I started it up on propane, it worked great. Like the electric start and the number of outlets. Will be using to operate electric equipment around my property. Backup generator for house in case of power lose. Will not be at a loss for electric power.
