I purchased this to replace a gasoline powered generator. I no longer wanted to do the yearly gas maintenance required and decided to upgrade to a propane generator. We also wanted an electric start model as with advancing age this seemed a wise investment, it comes with a remote start which is a big plus when it’s really cold outside. After reading all the reviews this was the model we chose, it arrived in perfect condition and after unpacking found that it was perfect. After reading the manual I called Westinghouse to ask two questions, my hold time was less than 20 seconds and the technician was VERY knowledgeable and polite. Since it just arrived I have not yet had a chance to run the generator but based on the delivery, the service tech. And overall looks like we made a great choice. This is my 4th generator and this looks to be the best one I have owned , it’s control panel layout, frame construction and overall appearance plus the little extras like the oil funnel, battery charger and assembly tools just put it over the top.

I am glad I bought this generator. It is well built. The push start is a breeze. No more manually cracking a generator to start it. It can also be wired directly into the house. I haven't come across anything yet that seems flimsy or made of cheap materials, except for the fuel type selection button. I wish it was more tactile/heavy. I love the battery charger option. Now I never have to worry about the battery dying on me. Things I like: * Built well * Feature packed * Easy and predictable start * Works as described Things that need to be improved: * Shipping times * Westinghouse barely gave me enough oil to fill the engine to just about the low oil level mark. I know they drain it before shipping it but I barely had enough oil to test start it. * The manual did not specify the oil capacity of the engine. Only time will tell if this or any generator is worth it; but as of right now; I love it.

Very happy to have a properly sized generator for our home. We have experienced a number of power outages through the years of living in a rural area, and having to pick and choose what items we wanted to keep online was a burden. This unit is able to accommodate the full load of our home, and the electric start is incredibly convenient.

Purchased this when a tree fell on a neighbor’s power lines and knocked a pole over that made a transformer explode! Didn’t want to lose all of our food knowing the power could be out for 24 hrs or more, so after doing some research I found the last one of these in stock at a local Menard’s so I went and grabbed it. Initially had an issue with the unit not starting using gas, but I had a propane tank so I hooked that up and is started right away. Westinghouse is sending a replacement piece that should resolve the issue with the unit not running on gas. Overall happy with the product despite the issue - ran a fridge, freezer, multiple fans, microwave, and some other electronics without skipping a beat. Thus far I would recommend the product!

I wanted to be prepared for our next outage so I needed a generator I could depend on. I am one that does a lot of research before I buy anything. I found this one and I watched a lot of videos, read reviews and articles. We broke it in and it runs amazing! I got the 9500df. I love the remote. Instructions are very understanding so I believe I am ready for next outage. I made a good decision on this. Thank you Westinghouse!!

Easy to set up and put wheels and oil in and go! Started right up. Even though it is 207 pounds, it was very easy to move. Seemed much lighter once large wheels were on. I attached propane tank to test. Looking forward to whole house connect with transfer switch install in a few days. Main goal was to run well pump for water for horses.

I just received this generator and the setup to this durable machine is amazing. I live in FL and went through Hurricane Ian without a generator, and learned my lesson that one is very much needed. I have conducted research on Generators for weeks. I talked to several in store employees of Home Depot/Lowes, and friends who live up in the Northern States with harsh winters. Everyone pointed me to Westinghouse for how durable, long lasting and power that this generator does for backup in emergency situations. I am beyond pleased to have this for my family and I, in emergency situations for when they happen. Thanks to Westinghouse for this amazing product!

I've only had this unit for a few days and I'm currently breaking it in at the moment. So I didn't want to give it 5 stars just yet. What I can tell you is that it's simple to set up. Only need to attach the 2 legs and 2 wheels with the tools provided then add oil that comes with it as well. The key Fob was also easy to program as well. I use both propane and gas during the break in period. I use all 3 starting methods(electric, manual, and remote) without any trouble. I'm extremely impressed at this point right out of the box.

We just moved to Northern Michigan from a town that rarely had power issues. We have been here 2 months, and already have had 2 outages. As I'm writing this review, the generator is running EVERYTHING. I'm so glad I have this right now, new neighbors are stopping by, and wondering why my house is the only 1 lit up.

In a previous review, I complained that after ordering a high altitude kit for the LP side, the wrong parts were shipped to me. That was incorrect. Expecting to receive one replacement orifice, when I saw four identical, looking brass fittings, in a plastic bag, not labeled with a part number, and receiving no instructions in the package, I assumed an error had been made. When I brought it up with support, they verified the correct part had been shipped to me, and finally provided a link to a YouTube video that showed how to install high altitude kits. The video revealed that they offer for different orifices for four different high altitude ranges. It is incumbent upon the owner to select the correct orifice for their altitude. Lo and behold upon further close inspection of these brass fittings, faintly embossed on the sides were the letters, A, B, C or D, and numbers such as 4.9, 4.7, etc. . I assume those numbers are probably the millimeters of the bore of the various orifices I believe it would’ve been infinitely helpful to show the part number on the package and even more importantly include instructions to install the kit or at least point to the YouTube address to get the instructional video. That would’ve saved both of us a lot of time and trouble. Other than that, it is a great looking product with a lot of features and benefits for the price. Still waiting for the high altitude kit for the carburetor which is out of stock If not for these annoyances, I would’ve gone five stars .
