I bought the WGen9500DF for emergency home backup. I can't speak to the long term reliability yet as we haven't run it more than a couple of hours for testing, but, it's certainly powerful. was able to run all of our critical loads including a 4.5 ton AC without a problem.

I ordered the generator on 3/25/21 and received it on 3/27/21. Unpacked it, read instruction on how to assemble. Within 45 minutes it was running on propane. It has its on toolkit to use when assembling. I lost power for 7 days during Hurricane Ike. I lost power for three day during the Texas ice storm this February. No more. This generator will supply all the power I need in the future. I have had several generations and this is by far the easiest to put together and run. All the other generators ran on gas, this one will be running on propane!

Bought for when power goes out. Not used for that yet…lol. Started it 10 times with only one problem—auto choke doesn’t automatically engage, but I must have it set wrong. So I just turn on choke and it fires right up every time. I really like the quick disconnect at the battery so it doesn’t lose power while not being used. So far I would definitely buy this again.

I have purchased a lot of generators in the past and i am impressed with the quality and engineering that went into this unit. The generator came with a 1.1 quart of oil,enough to fill crank case to the low mark on the dip stick. had to add another 3 ozs. Started quick on gas on first try and also the same for propane. put a 4500 watt load and no drop in voltage.I will need this Gen for hurricane season. Highly recommend this generator.

Unit arrived well packaged, in 7 total days, with no damage. Installation was straight forward with no surprises. Started on first try, remote FOB works well with great range over 100ft. . Noise is surprisingly low for a generator of this size. I am HAPPY!!

I purchased the generator in June in preparation for the hurricane season. While Milton made it way across Florida, I and my family were able to continue to reside in our home thanks to the smooth and reliable operation of "Jerry" the generator. Thanks Jerry!

Bought a month ago and no regrets, Pretty quiet compared to my old generator and much easier to handle. It is compatible with a GENERLINK Transfer switch (the one that sits just behind the electric meter outside your house. Dual fuel is great option. IF gas gets too expensive I have an option to propane. Starts up quickly with electric start. Should run whole house easily.. we do have a pretty efficient house. All i need now is a hookup to charge an electric car if power goes out. Power goes out a lot here as we are surrounded by provincial park on one side and nature /wildlife reserves on other side. LOTS of 70 to 80 foot trees and power lines go through these areas.

After doing lots of research I decided to pull the trigger on the Westinghouse 9500 Dual Fuel. The customer ratings were great and the fact I couldn’t find it in stock anywhere said a lot. Arrived early, in great condition and I can’t wait to break it in.

I purchased this generator a month before this review. The main reason for the purchase is for a home backup during power outages. Lots of great reviews helped my decision. I really like the features. Dual fuel, electric & remote start (auto choke), 50 amp & 30 amp connections, and the rated fuel consumption vs other brands got my attention. I plan on using propane because it burns cleaner, does not gum up carburetors easily, and stores much longer than todays gasoline. Easy setup. After filling with provided engine oil (with provided oil funnel) & hooking up propane properly, the engine started on the first try. All electrical outlets worked. I plan on following the manuals directions for storage maintenance. Several thousand great reviews for this product. Westinghouse has a great reputation for customer service and products.

Just delivered, box was split open on both sides. One of the vents on the rear of the generator was dented. Found small black pieces of plastic on the bottom of the inside of box. Other than that it looks good. Have to get some fresh gasoline and fill propane tank and get it running. I’ll update review later.
