This salmon has the cleanest, freshest flavor of any frozen salmon I have ever eaten. Seems Sam's has worked on getting the product delivered in the time to maintain temperature. The salmon delivered today, 9APR26 still had a small amount of the dry ice still in it. However, the weather in the southeast has been real cool this week. When it warms up 1 bag of ice will not do the job. I say this so that hopefully someone in Sam's corporate will read this make adjustment with the seasons. Then as a consumer I to will pay attention to the condition of the product when it arrives. This Salmon is worth some of the extra care and attention!!!!.

Excellent Salmon - BUT - the last two times it has arrived at my door partially thawed. (I opened it within 30 minutes of it's arrival on my door) It was still cold - but NOT frozen. I live in Idaho and the Salmon is shipped from back east. I highly recommend the company put TWO dry ice containers in the box with the salmon when shipping long distances. Otherwise, I will have to return it AGAIN!

I've been eating fish my entire life and love sushi so I thought I'd try this out and bought a package this morning at my local Sam's Club. Absolutely the worst fish product I've ever eaten, hands down. Why all the good reviews?? This is in no way fresh salmon. The flesh is light pink , very, very watery and absolutely tasteless. It was like chewing a a soft wet dish towel. I can't imagine how this fish was processed to remove every single molecule of salmon flavor and make it taste like wet cardboard. Sorry, wet cardboard has taste so that a bad comparison. Unbelievable. A complete waste of $32. Now I'm off to my regular fish market to buy real sashimi grade salmon.

Caution - I recommend paying attention only to reviews dated 2025 or later as this product took a nose dive in 2025 due to poor packaging and either no dry ice or not enough. Our last package arrived two days after shipping, so delayed shipping was not the problem. The package was intact although it was a flimsy cardboard box, not the thick styrofoam cooler type box we were accustomed to. There was NO ice of any kind and the salmon was thawed. We used to boast about the quality of this product to family and friends and purchased many to give as gifts. We quit buying.

My second order of this Norwegian fish is as good as my first was. No fishy taste at all. My husband is not a salmon lover, but he admits this is very good. Just make yourself a little bowl of homemade tartar sauce with mayo, sweet pickle relish, grated onion juice and a tad of lemon juice to go with it and you have perfection!

It was well packed and well frozen during delivery. The salmon tastes good and must be sashimi grade because I defrosted for 24 hours, ate raw, and didn’t get sick. But, look at the price? Maybe if it is was fresh it would be worth the price but not as a frozen product. Also, the defrosted salmon does NOT look like the product in the picture. The pink is clearly a farm raised pink and the white is not as pronounced but this is a natural product so I guess one expects variation.

Five star salmon in a one star package. I have ordered and enjoyed this salmon multiple times. It used to come on dry ice in a styrofoam cooler and always arrived frozen even in very hot weather. This time it arrived in paper packaging, and the dry ice was completely gone. The salmon, though cold, was partially thawed. It was also delivered several days ahead of the promised day, and I only received the delivery email three hours after delivery. Unless the packaging is improved I won't be ordering this again.

In a very poor attempt to cut costs, they have changed the packaging to ship out the salmon. It now arrives completely thawed and no dry ice to be seen anywhere. I had to throw out my entire order of salmon because it was squishy and almost room temperature. Don't waste your time ordering this.

I have ordered this salmon a few times and raved about it with every bite. However, with this last shipment, only about half of the individual pieces were vacuum sealed. The others had lite ice crystals built up around the meat and slid easily around inside their packaging. There appeared to be more portions inside the box, but the meat was not rich in color or flavor --as it had been. It did not inspire me to want to purchase again

I was nervous about this salmon actually arriving comfortably edible following shipping, but it arrived solidly frozen. Even when opening the box, the air was cold like opening your freezer. There was still dry ice in the cooler! We used to get the Norwegian salmon in store, but haven’t seen it in several months. This arrived in perfect condition. I hope Sam’s keeps this product available. I will definitely be ordering again!
