We have purchased this Sashimi-Grade Atlantic Salmon several times as we had always been satisfied with the quality and freshness of the salmon. However, in the last order, we had an unexpected experience with the shipment. Unfortunately, the dry ice had totally melted due to the new packaging (please see attached) that had replaced the previous styrofoam packaging, and the frozen salmon arrived completely thawed out. After contacting online customer service and informed the incident that salmon was thawed out due to the poor cardboard insulation material of the new packaging, the customer service personnel arranged to send us a replacement. Yet, they used the same non-styrofoam packaging to send the salmon, allowing the dry ice to completely evaporate before arriving to our place once again. This new packaging is clearly not suited for frozen 2-night shipments since the dry ice evaporates rapidly through the cardboard, and customers ordering should be aware of the risks if they want FROZEN salmon arriving at their doorsteps until they revert to the styrofoam packaging.

Caution - I recommend paying attention only to reviews dated 2025 or later as this product took a nose dive in 2025 due to poor packaging and either no dry ice or not enough. Our last package arrived two days after shipping, so delayed shipping was not the problem. The package was intact although it was a flimsy cardboard box, not the thick styrofoam cooler type box we were accustomed to. There was NO ice of any kind and the salmon was thawed. We used to boast about the quality of this product to family and friends and purchased many to give as gifts. We quit buying.

Earlier shipments arrived with edges that were thawed and dry ice completely gone. The last shipment arrived several days late and was completely thawed, it would have been dangerous to consume, so we called mid shipment as soon as we knew it would be delayed and asked for a refund. We took the packages to the dump for disposal.

The salmon was packaged beautifully and was frozen solid. The shipment I received emitted an odd odor when cooking, had a strange bland taste that bordered on being tasteless, and had an unpleasant chemical-like after taste. I cooked several portions and threw most of it away.

In a very poor attempt to cut costs, they have changed the packaging to ship out the salmon. It now arrives completely thawed and no dry ice to be seen anywhere. I had to throw out my entire order of salmon because it was squishy and almost room temperature. Don't waste your time ordering this.

My second order of this Norwegian fish is as good as my first was. No fishy taste at all. My husband is not a salmon lover, but he admits this is very good. Just make yourself a little bowl of homemade tartar sauce with mayo, sweet pickle relish, grated onion juice and a tad of lemon juice to go with it and you have perfection!

I placed an order of this item with the correct shipping address. Unfortunately Fedex emailed and informed me new delivery date. I let them know my unit number. Three days later I received warm and all melt sashimi without dry ice. I placed another order of this item again. Same thing happened even though I called Sam’s club to make sure that my unit number on the 2nd line of address needs to be entered in the special instructions section. This time delivery date was postponed from Thursday to Friday, and then Friday to this coming Monday. High chance not to print out the second line of address. Very frustrating and disappointing!

The package was arrived on time but the shipping box was not taped well so that there were some openings. All dry-ice in the box was gone and the frozen salmon was half-thawed. Hope the company had used more packaging tape to seal shipping box better and put sufficient amount dry-ice to keep the fish frozen.

I bought this product 3 times. The first time, it was perfect. Excellent quality. The second time, defrosted but cold at least. Last week, WARM TO THE TOUCH. I have complained to Sam's twice to explain the issues to them but of course, they don't care because it is a 3rd party product (NO LIABILITY YOU SEE) so beyond the meaningless apologies of the CS agents, nothing has been or seemingly WILL BE done. So I have to forgo a product I actually enjoy simply because FEDEX IS THE WORST SHIPPING SERVICE IN ALL OF CREATION and it is not available at my local stores. 72 hours on non-refrigerated vehicles in the worst heat wave in recent history. (I TRACKED IT) The manufacturer actually uses 2 DAY SHIPPING... FOR FISH they claim is "sashimi grade". (Again it took 72 hours, actually MORE THAN) From the bottom to the top, this is a very dangerous comedy of errors and I guess it will take food poisoning and a major lawsuit to get anyone's attention. I am beginning to question my PAID membership to a company with such little disregard for its customers.

I have ordered this salmon a few times and raved about it with every bite. However, with this last shipment, only about half of the individual pieces were vacuum sealed. The others had lite ice crystals built up around the meat and slid easily around inside their packaging. There appeared to be more portions inside the box, but the meat was not rich in color or flavor --as it had been. It did not inspire me to want to purchase again
