Excellent Salmon - BUT - the last two times it has arrived at my door partially thawed. (I opened it within 30 minutes of it's arrival on my door) It was still cold - but NOT frozen. I live in Idaho and the Salmon is shipped from back east. I highly recommend the company put TWO dry ice containers in the box with the salmon when shipping long distances. Otherwise, I will have to return it AGAIN!

This salmon has the cleanest, freshest flavor of any frozen salmon I have ever eaten. Seems Sam's has worked on getting the product delivered in the time to maintain temperature. The salmon delivered today, 9APR26 still had a small amount of the dry ice still in it. However, the weather in the southeast has been real cool this week. When it warms up 1 bag of ice will not do the job. I say this so that hopefully someone in Sam's corporate will read this make adjustment with the seasons. Then as a consumer I to will pay attention to the condition of the product when it arrives. This Salmon is worth some of the extra care and attention!!!!.

It was well packed and well frozen during delivery. The salmon tastes good and must be sashimi grade because I defrosted for 24 hours, ate raw, and didn’t get sick. But, look at the price? Maybe if it is was fresh it would be worth the price but not as a frozen product. Also, the defrosted salmon does NOT look like the product in the picture. The pink is clearly a farm raised pink and the white is not as pronounced but this is a natural product so I guess one expects variation.

We're very pleased with this salmon, in quality, quantity, price and condition on arrival and when eaten. Will be reordering when this batch is finished. The product was very well packaged for shipping and arrived very quickly (within 2 days) after our order was processed. The salmon is sushi grade, we ate it sashimi style.

We have purchased this Sashimi-Grade Atlantic Salmon several times as we had always been satisfied with the quality and freshness of the salmon. However, in the last order, we had an unexpected experience with the shipment. Unfortunately, the dry ice had totally melted due to the new packaging (please see attached) that had replaced the previous styrofoam packaging, and the frozen salmon arrived completely thawed out. After contacting online customer service and informed the incident that salmon was thawed out due to the poor cardboard insulation material of the new packaging, the customer service personnel arranged to send us a replacement. Yet, they used the same non-styrofoam packaging to send the salmon, allowing the dry ice to completely evaporate before arriving to our place once again. This new packaging is clearly not suited for frozen 2-night shipments since the dry ice evaporates rapidly through the cardboard, and customers ordering should be aware of the risks if they want FROZEN salmon arriving at their doorsteps until they revert to the styrofoam packaging.

Five star salmon in a one star package. I have ordered and enjoyed this salmon multiple times. It used to come on dry ice in a styrofoam cooler and always arrived frozen even in very hot weather. This time it arrived in paper packaging, and the dry ice was completely gone. The salmon, though cold, was partially thawed. It was also delivered several days ahead of the promised day, and I only received the delivery email three hours after delivery. Unless the packaging is improved I won't be ordering this again.

Why don't we have it in club any more? We loved to purchase it in Gardena warehouse, they were in big pieces and were perfect for making our own sashimi. Please bring it back to the club house as these small individually packed portion is hard to be made as sashimi!!

This is very good salmon. I have purchased many times before. The packaging has substantially changed. Instead of a styrofoam cooler with dry ice, it is now just packaging material with dry ice. The salmon arrived quickly and on time. The dry ice was completely evaporated and the salmon was no longer frozen. It was still cool to the touch. In the past with a styrofoam cooler, the salmon would have been frozen and there would still be a half block of dry ice.

I think the fish is of good quality. The problem is the shipping. I've ordered this salmon repeatedly, and there is never timely notice of shipping or delivery. A ship/tracking e-mail is sent out overnight before the delivery day, and then never updated. As I write this, my order was delivered hours ago--sitting on the step in the middle of a raging thunderstorm, no doorbell ring--and the tracking still says "Out for delivery." I was asleep, so had no idea it was delivered. I've had orders from other retailers delivered by FedEx and never have this problem. I don't know if Sam's Club or the retailer opts for a cheaper FedEx option or what, but unless you sit at home and constantly monitor your doorstep, and only buy during cold weather, you may find your "perishable" has perished.

My second order of this Norwegian fish is as good as my first was. No fishy taste at all. My husband is not a salmon lover, but he admits this is very good. Just make yourself a little bowl of homemade tartar sauce with mayo, sweet pickle relish, grated onion juice and a tad of lemon juice to go with it and you have perfection!
