Great avocados

These avocados are great. Wife and I have been eating one avocado (½ each) a day everyday since November 2020 thanks to Sam's. We pick up two bags per visit and every time, we pick them up, they are not ripe. We allow them to ripen up a bit for about 5 days before stashing them into the fridge. Our cholesterol levels have never been better!

Used to buy often

I normally buy this pack of avocados religiously however they are nearly $4 more than September! It was 4.98 then, and 8.43 today? Unconscionable. They can be bought 'not in bulk' at most other stores for less than $1 each. Up nearly $1 per month. Hope they can lower the price again soon. Until then I won't buy them from SAMS.

Amazing quality!

These avocados are consistently amazing! We buy the 5-count bag regularly, and they’re always huge—each one is like the size of two regular avocados. They ripen well, taste great, and the price is super reasonable for how big and fresh they are. Definitely a staple on our shopping list!

great for all my recipes

I have been buying these now for about a year and have never had a bad one unless I left them out on the counter to long. I find if they are hard I can leave them on the counter until I can barely feel a give. Then I put them in them in the refrigerator vegetable drawer and the are good for about 2 weeks or more.

Bad batch of avocados

I’m really disappointed with the avocados I recently purchased from Sam’s Club — and unfortunately, this isn't the first time I've had this issue. The quality has been consistently poor. The avocados don’t ripen evenly at all. Some parts remain rock hard while others spoil and turn black almost instantly. Even when they seem ripe, the texture is off — either mushy or impossible to cut through. The seed doesn’t come out easily either, which is unusual for ripe avocados. It's incredibly frustrating to spend money on a product that should be fresh and healthy, only to end up throwing most of it away. I expect better quality, especially when buying in bulk. Please take a closer look at your suppliers or storage process. Something is clearly off.

Great!

Despite the previous reviews, we have not found any issues with the quality of the Avocado flesh. If you check the fruits before buying and select the slightly firmer fruits, they will ripen nicely in just a day or two. You can freeze mashed avocado with a tad bit of lemon juice and this will keep them from browning.

Terrible texture no flavor

for the amount of money we paid, we expected the avocado to be edible at a minimum. in store the felt nearly ripe, able to lightly squeeze . opening them up they are weird as if they have been frozen or something, with brown flecks throughout. taste extremely bland with a very unsatisfying texture

Sam's Peruvian avocados are garbage

Peruvian avocados are garbage, time after time. You are buying a bag of dry never-ripening rocks when you buy Index Fresh avocados from Sam's Club. Sam's used to carry good quality avocados from California or Mexico but Peru attempt at growing avocados ain't working out, at least for Sam's Club customers..

Poor Quality

Will not ripen but rots on the inside! I was hoping to be able to use at least 1 out if the 5 that were in the bag. Nope, they were unripe and rotting on the inside and had dark blotches throughout. First and last time I will buy avocados from there until quality changes.

WORST avocados ever!

The last avocados we got from Sam's were HORRIBLE. They were Peruvian avocados and although they looked like the Mexican ones, they were NOT even close in quality and taste. They were a bland, pale green and brown mash of goo and had none of the creamy, oily, delicious consistency of the Mexican Haas avocados. Sam's, PLEASE DO NOT sell these poor avocado substitutes! THEY SUCK!
