About this item

Product details

These fresh avocados deliver a rich, buttery texture and a sweet, nutty flavor that make everyday meals and snacks more satisfying.

Rich, Buttery Flavor for Everyday Meals

Avocados are a versatile fruit for more than guacamole. Slice or cube them for sandwiches, salads and burgers, or to top your toast; mash them for guacamole and baby food; or blend them into your favorite smoothie for a creamy texture.

Good Fats and Fiber in Every Serving

Avocados contain good fats and nearly 20 vitamins and minerals. In an approximately 50g serving, avocados provide 5g of monounsaturated fat and 1g of polyunsaturated fat, along with 3g of fiber and no cholesterol, sugar, or sodium. These “good fats” can help improve the intake of dietary fat without raising LDL or “bad” cholesterol.

Big-Batch Guacamole Made Simple

If you’ve never made your own guacamole at home, it may seem intimidating. Have no fear—this one is quick, simple and anyone can pull it off. For a generous bowl of guacamole, mash 6 avocados with the juice of 2 limes, 1 diced white onion, and 2 tsp. salt. Stir in 6 Tbsp. chopped cilantro, 4 diced plum tomatoes, and 2 tsp. finely minced garlic. Add a few pinches of cayenne pepper, depending on how much your guests enjoy spice, then refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

Ripeness, Storage, and Fresh-Cut Tips

Use these practical tips to pick the right avocado for tonight and keep the rest fresh:

• Ripeness is best checked by feel, not color; a ready-to-eat avocado should have uniform softness.

• To speed ripening, place avocados in a paper bag with a banana or apple, close the bag, and leave it on the counter for 24–48 hours.

• Store firm or under-ripe avocados at room temperature until they reach your preferred ripeness; once ripe, refrigerate them for several days.

• For clean slices and cubes (great for sandwiches and toast), choose firm-ripe avocados that yield slightly to gentle pressure; for mashing and guacamole, choose avocados that yield easily to gentle pressure.

• To help cut avocado stay fresh, apply a thin layer of lemon or lime juice to the cut surface and wrap tightly with plastic wrap.

For extra help keeping produce fresh longer, store fruits and vegetables with a Bluapple Carbon Saver Combo Pack.

Best avocados I can find!

Best avocados I can purchase. Almost always good, fresh, solid. Usually requires a few days to ripen on counter, then refrigerate to use for a week or more.

Better avocados

Lately when I purchased avocados at Walmart or Aldi they've already gotten bad before I could even eat them and I usually eat one a day. The ones that I've been buying from Sam's on a regular basis have been good every single time I may not buy avocados from the other two stores ever again.

Quality on a natural quality

Watch the prices as they fluctuate. Get yourself a 10 cent paper bag and buy them hard, put them in the bag, wait a couple days, stash them in the fridge, enjoy everything avocado for a couple weeks. Love guacamole, avocado and turkey sandwich, eggs and avocado, endless options. At a good price you won't find a better deal
