Avocados too Hard never ripe

We purchased 2 week at Sam's Club Mathews NC. We waited for them to ripen and after a week they were still hard a rocks. We used ripen bananas to help in ripening them which normal works. Rather than ripen the became rotten, everyone we opened was slightly ready but would not ripen. I believe these are now being treated with the new chemical created so fruit and vegetables don't spoil. We will never again but these Avocados from Sam's Club.

very flavorful

with avocados flavor depends on size most of the time, but these are larged sized and still have a great creamy nutty taste. No matter which bag I pick up they have a rich dark green or black color and if you haven't tried them before they go great in a salad, wrap, sandwich or as i recently found out frosting for pancakes. Definitely recommended.

Bring back the Mexican Haas avocados.

I made the mistake of not checking the country of origin. Lately they've been from Peru. They were watery, tasteless, and overripe on the top and hard and underripe at the bottom. Very disappointing to say the least. Please bring back the Mexican Avocados! I won't be buying these again. 😕🥑

Great avocados

These avocados are great. Wife and I have been eating one avocado (½ each) a day everyday since November 2020 thanks to Sam's. We pick up two bags per visit and every time, we pick them up, they are not ripe. We allow them to ripen up a bit for about 5 days before stashing them into the fridge. Our cholesterol levels have never been better!

Poor Quality

Will not ripen but rots on the inside! I was hoping to be able to use at least 1 out if the 5 that were in the bag. Nope, they were unripe and rotting on the inside and had dark blotches throughout. First and last time I will buy avocados from there until quality changes.

Excellent value & tasty!

Very affordable price & great fresh quality too. They all tend to ripen at the same time within only around a day of each other,so this is optimal for a entire household to enjoy for a affordable price...Or if you're like me & you're a very big enthusiast that enjoys eating 2 or 3 of them in a single day.Normally avocados are expensive but this bulk pricing makes them affordable even for larger households...They're excellent with Mexican food,on pizza,on sandwiches,& even smeared on top of a grilled cheese among other things^_^.

great for all my recipes

I have been buying these now for about a year and have never had a bad one unless I left them out on the counter to long. I find if they are hard I can leave them on the counter until I can barely feel a give. Then I put them in them in the refrigerator vegetable drawer and the are good for about 2 weeks or more.

Bring back avocados from Mexico!

We were buying 2-3 bags of Mexican avocado a month. We use them in salads, on sandwiches-instead of mayonnaise, in bean burritos, fajita chicken soup and to make guacamole. About a month or so all local warehouses & stores (East Texas) started carrying avocados from Peru. I thought no big deal an avocado is an avocado, however these Peruvian ones are subpar to the Mexican in terms of taste and ripening. Peruvian avocados are almost flavorless, take longer to ripen, ripen unevenly and are rock hard. Not even a little bit of salt or guacamole ingredients improve their texture and flavor. In contrast Mexican avocados are creamy, buttery, have a slightly nutty taste, and ripen evenly.

If the tag says grown in Peru do not buy!

Absolutely never buy avocados at Sams Club if they are grown in Peru. They are hard as rocks and will not ripen on the counter, putting them in a bag I have tried everything and literally have thrown over 20 avocados in the last 5 weeks in the trash. They will rot inside before they ever ripen.

DON'T buy if the label says "Peru"

DON'T buy if they're from Peru. Sams sources from this same Company who will deliver from either Peru or Mexico, depending on where they're sourcing them. TWO consecutive bags from Peru did not ripen correctly, from research this appears to be a function of conditions in the holding warehouse at the vendor before they're delivered to the Sams stores.
