Very fresh cheese with a clean, mild flavor. Great texture and perfect for slicing or adding to meals without overpowering other ingredients. It holds its shape well and tastes authentic. I would definitely buy it again.

This is a good panela cheese, similar to the ones you get in Mexico.

El Viajero Panela Basket Cheese was a disappointment. The texture was rubbery and squeaky, and the flavor was almost nonexistent. It didn’t melt, didn’t improve when cooked, and added nothing to the dish except bulk. Watery in spots and dry in others, it was frustrating to use. I won’t be buying it again.

This cheese is too salty. We love panela and consider it healthier than other cheeses, but this one we could barely eat given the amount of salt it has. We tried cooking it and it helped, but we didn’t enjoy it as is. It is a shame because panela goes well with everything, but we don’t want to consume all our salt in one cheese serving. The cheese also goes bad very fast; you must consume it within a week after opening or it turns bitter.

It always goes bad really fast. I really don’t like the taste.
