This is my third Regalo gate. Fortunately all have fit my door openings, but I know there are some where you have to extend the extension screws too far to keep them rigid. I had one of these and would up putting a piece of wood between the wall the screw. The gates work very well and I have 3 goldens who need to be regulated and kept out of the kitchen. I"m sure if they really wanted to, they could knock the gate down, but they haven't tried. Recommend!

I am very impressed with this product. I was worried that it would not me my expectations because it was so cheap. Well it meets all my expectations. So much easier than the other gate we were using. Our four pit bulls have not been able to knock it down or destroy it. Love it.

Overall I love this gate the only thing I would change is to make the opening a little wider but otherwise for the money it's great. I got tired off stepping over the plastic pressure gates and didn't want to install the other swing gates. This is great and is not cheap. It's very sturdy proven by my 21 month old. You have to slide a latch to release the handle to open it and once we do that and she can open and close it 50 times a day in and out the gate hasn't moved an inch!

This gate was awesome I have owned two First one lasted 5 years no issues other then going through the wall in our home (My fault) LOL. BTW my first one is still going strong. My second one I noticed was lighter then the first and it lasted only 1 1/2 years. The metal its self is coming apart where it was welded together. I'm disappointed because my son is only one and now we have to buy ANOTHER gate for just a few more months. Still a great gate and will buy another but I might look at another brand this time. We used this one for the kitchen so it is a high traffic area but then so was our last gate and I just assumed this gate would last a few years and it didn't.

This gate is everything it is advertised to be! I installed it alone in 5 minutes...simple and easy to read instructions. Well made, sturdy and very attractive. Absolutely secure fit, no damage to walls. Easy to remove when necessary and easy to replace. We use it to keep our two cats where we want them. Excellent value.

This product does not fit any staircase. They need to explain that in description. the hooks on the side of the staircase needs to be really screwed to the wall otherwise it will come out. Our stairs rails are metal and we could not screw that to the rails. Stayed at the rails for one day and my baby (7months old) tried to pull the door and the whole thing came off!!! this product is not safe for any environment. BE WARE!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The regalo gate is has pros and cons to it. The gate was very easy to install you can either use the gate with the wall grippers making it easy to take down or use the wall mounts to hold in place permanently. It comes with a extra piece to the gate just in case you have a bigger wall area.. it holds in place great. The cons with this gate is that the walk space is very narrow. It's not only used for babies to walk through, but adults as well. The little latches on the bottom are a great idea to aid in extra protection with the kid not being able to get out but it's also a hassle for the adults using it because you have to remember to bend down and unlatch them just to open the gate which can also be very dangerous in a emergencies. Other than that the gate stands its purpose . My children can't unlatch it(1yr & soon to be 3 yr)

I wish we would have bought this gate long before we did. When we first installed it we thought it was defective because the door latch did not reach far enough to close the gate. But once we read all the instructions, we found the notice that warned that the gate is NOT defective, because it will close once the gate is properly installed (the tension got rid of the gap). It's sturdy and easy to open and close-even with one hand. Definitely would recommend it.

I ordered two of these gates to help my little yorkies stay in the kitchen area. Previously I had shorter gates, 18inches high made for tiny dogs. At five months old and only five pds, my little yorkie would scale over it and so I purchased these two. They were wonderful, easy to put up, ease of opening to step thru. The only problem I had and it had nonething to do with the gate at all was that my little smart yorkie squeezed herself right thru the bars. I did not believe it til I watched her do it. My hubby put some wire screening over the bars and fastened it with cable ties. Now this works great for that little "Houdini" and the gates are wonderful. I would recommend them.

We bought this to keep our senior dog safe from attempting the stairs without us being present. I am 5'6", 172 lbs. I am also on the clumsy side. I can get through this gate, with my hands full, easily. While I'm home, I can keep the handle in an easier to use position but can fully lock it when I'm not home. The extra hardware included to add strength, if needed, was a bonus. We have found the tension without the screws strong enough. We were able to try a couple of different heights and positions to get the perfect fit for our stairway. It installs very quickly and easily. It's also aesthetically pleasing in our home.
