i bought it to saw it mentioned suitable for 29inch to 34inch opening. my stairs opening is 33 inch. so without extension it seems small to fit and with extension its not fitting at all. disappointed that what they mentioned didn't fulfill. i tried a lot to fit it in 33inch opening. but didnt get succeed. going to return it. Please make sure its actual size as per your door gate opening before purchase.

I purchased this for my two new puppies. It was much less expensive than similar products in the pet stores. Works very well, keeps puppies from climbing over due to the vertical bars. Other pressure type gates did not hold them. A bit tricky to set in place at first but once properly installed it works great.

This works great for a regular size door but I needed to buy a second one for blocking off kitchen. It is a great item to have if you have a baby or pet you need to block in or kept safe from hot stoves, hallways, or fireplaces. My little grandson is much safer now because of this item.

For the people that can't fit it into a 36 inch space here is how to do it, you take the adjusting knobs off on one side only then put the screws in and then add the short extension, this way it is in tight with no room on the sides you just adjust it from 1 side and is very sturdy. I hope I explained that clearly lol

I apparently read the details for this gate wrong because I thought it swung open both ways but it does not. I have it at the base of my steps which are on the right side of my house and the gate opens to the left which puts it in an awkward place when open. The lever that locks it partially but enough for the use to keep my 15 month old off the steps is one handed but the red clip that really locks it is a two handed job. Overall I like the gate just fine and it serves its purpose and is relatively easy to install with one person. If you have an extra hand to hold it in place that works even better.

So far my 18 month old has broken through 2 gates - normally by sliding her legs under that part where the floor trim is and just popping the pressure gate down. This one has held up over a week and I think it stands a good chance since it has 4 adjustable screws and goes all the way down to the floor. Our guests over the holidays all loved that they didn’t have to hop over a gate to get into the kitchen and I honestly think the toddler likes it too...She even closes it behind us when we forget to.

Fits openings 29-40 inches wide with included extension kit and stand 31 inches tall These are well made gates, the only issues with all brands it seems to be that they are either not wide enough or too wide. There is not enough different sizes. when you use the extension all the way the extension bolt starts to bow ...need to make the bolts stronger set up is super easy we mounted to wood pieces to make stronger

Babysitting our granddaughter has meant a considerable dollar investment to adapt our home for her safety. Like many others these days, we became grandparents later in life than expected and no longer feel safe trying to climb over a gate multiple times a day. This product met both needs, lower price and safe access. This gate is very easy to install, is adjustable for multiple opening sizes, has a closure that can be either easily opened with one hand or more securely locked for older children. All-in-all, I am more than pleased with this purchase.

I had purchased this gate to replace the one my 1yr old would climb up because of the lattice type design. I first purchased an evenflo that said to be easy open, but it was not. So I decided to try this Regalo Easy Open and see if it was or not easy open. Its great!! We dont even lock it all the way because it has a close feature that closes without locking. I can easily open this with one hand (even when it is locked. The kids do manage to knock it down every once in a while but its so easy to put back up. ( I bought this gate to fit a 39" opening). Cons: opening could be a tad bigger, I would not reccommend this for a larger person (being pregnant i have to watch my belly. LOL), and only opens oneway, which is not terrible

I purchased one of these gates several months ago to contain my female dog, while she was still a pup. Now we are using it to contain her pups. The gate has held up beautifully. As to the comments regarding size, if you read the description it says max 34 in NOT 36 or 39. I haven't seen the extension but I'm sure a long board on each side a couple of inches thick would add enough tension and take up the space without have to modify anything. Hubby wants me to purchase two more. One of the best buys ever.
