This gate is simple to install and can fit a large opening with the extension (included). Once installed it is very sturdy. It works beautifully to keep both children and pets safe, and the gate opens and closes easily. In comparison to other similar products it is reasonably priced. I highly recommend this product!

I am really glad I got this gate. I had a different one that my 2 yr old would pull on and go upstairs. So I need one that he couldnt open at the bottom of the steps. It took a few minutes to set up and easy to open. No need to screw anything in and a great price. I ordered it Tuesday and got it today Friday. May end up ordering another one and would recommend this product to others.

I use this gate to keep my dogs (3) from charging the front door or sneaking out. It's easy to install, be sure to level it so the gate stays open when you want it to. I bought my first one at a pet store & paid $20 more for the same gate, it just had a different brand name on it. Walmart has the best price. I have 3 in my house.

We have gates that we've paid twice the price for, and this gate is so much better. It is so easy to install (recommend screwing it into the wall). And I'm not sure why people said that it doesn't fit all sizes, because it does. You let the screws dictate how wide a space (you'll figure it out). Anyway, its the best gate for the price. The lip at the bottom is a bit high and takes some getting used to.

Easy to assemble and works good on the stairs for a 1 year old. Although, have to use the last step for the bottom part of the gate which makes it hard to use that step. When baby gets stronger he may be able to push the gate. Will work better at the top of the stairs.

I purchased this product because my roommate was irritated that she had to keep her door shut due to my new puppy. I needed something metal and sturdy because I live in an old house with the big metal grate heater in the floor and it is right where I needed to put the gate. So far so good. It has put up wtih the heat and the swinging door is great and so easy to use. Roomate was happy. Anyways great buy if your looking for something like this. Definately worth the cost.

Because of the base moulding on my wall, the gate would not fit. With the extension it was too wide, without the extension pieces the adjusters were too extended and would buckle out on pressure!!!!! So frustrating. PS the opening I am trying to fit is 34 1/2"...not a crazy size!

We bought this to keep our senior dog safe from attempting the stairs without us being present. I am 5'6", 172 lbs. I am also on the clumsy side. I can get through this gate, with my hands full, easily. While I'm home, I can keep the handle in an easier to use position but can fully lock it when I'm not home. The extra hardware included to add strength, if needed, was a bonus. We have found the tension without the screws strong enough. We were able to try a couple of different heights and positions to get the perfect fit for our stairway. It installs very quickly and easily. It's also aesthetically pleasing in our home.

I purchased this DESPITE several reviews telling me not to. I have a 35-36" in opening #the walls are not completely level and we have baseboards#. In general, assembly via tension was super easy. I had no issues with figuring out how to install it. Without the extension it comes with the gate would not stay in place because the tension was way too loose, so I installed the extension. With the extension it BARELY fit on the drywall #wouldn't install into the baseboards#. Now, I have it installed but because of the baseboards we have to step over the bottom bar which is approx. 3 inches off the ground. Not a major deal, but when hauling laundry it's just one more thing I have to think about. It's also a pain because it's at the top of the stairs. It seems fairly secure- My son is only crawling at this point so he will test it out sooner or later. If we need to use the hardware mounting we will, but wanted to test it before drilling; and it's a good thing because we're going to keep it where it is for now, but move it later. Then we will invest in a more expensive one that fits in the doorway better so we don't have to step over the bar anymore. But for now it works. I think for the price it's a good gate. I wouldn't buy this if you have baseboards and similar measurements 35" or 36". But, if it's a few inches larger or smaller this should work even with baseboards.

I purchased the Regalo Easy-Step Metal swing gate to keep my Yorkiepoo out of harms way. She cannot see well and one of my rooms has a woodburner in it. I was afraid she would get hurt. Gate works perfectly. Opens easy for my access, but keeps her out. Very sturdy construction for the price.
