worth the money

looks decent, very easy to set up its durable (so far so good) my 2 + 4year old can stand on the door or hang on it and the gate would stay in place. The only thing to consider is that my 4 year old can open the gate, I wish there was an extra lock that even he couldn't open, but in my case it's not too much of a deal, so worth it's money, would buy it again !!

Great Gate

This was purchased to help contain a very active english cocker spaniel. We love the easy to use walk through portion of the gate. The up and down metal slats keep our dog from using his hind legs for leverage as he did with all the other gates we purchased and it's taller than most gates. He has nothing to get a hold of. Set up was quick and easy. This gate can be easily taken with you when visiting family and friends.

PERFECT! Very helpful

We bought this swing gate because we have a 9 month old and a 7 year old. We are back and forth through the doorway day and night. Spending the extra money on this gate was WELL WORTH IT. It is SO EASY to use and was simple to install. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

A Decent Gate

If you don't need the extension, the gate comes in one piece except for 4 bolts which are used to hold it in place in the doorway. There are also 4 small cups that can be permanently screwed into the wall for a more secure installation. At first we did not use the cups and since the entrance of the gate is not extremely wide, my husband knocked it out of place several times. We eventually screwed the cups into the wall and now the gate is secure. So far we like the gate. One thing I like is that there is no possibility of pinched baby fingers when the baby stands at the gate while it's being opened or closed. It's a good value for a simple gate.

Must have! No more tripping

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I currently have a 6 and 5 year old not to mention an 18 month old and I'm due in 10 weeks with my final child. It has taken me three kids to realize that there is a better option than those annoying baby gates that you set up in the doorway and then push down to secure it and you have to step over it. This is so much easier and everything that you need is included in the box. Once you have the setup it's extremely secure and it comes with the rubber stoppers for the wall in case you don't have a door jam to shove it up against so it makes the gate sturdy enough even my Great Dane can jump up on the gate and it won't fall down. Its holding up perfectly to my 18 month old too. By far the best gate i have owned yet.

Measuring Issues

In general I like Regalo gates. They tend to be good quality. MEASUREMENT WARNING, though: I bought this gate for a 36" opening. The description says that it fits up to 39"...but this is with the extension. Without the extension this gate is really only effective for openings probably closer to 33". To fit my 36" opening the tension rods had to be extended out too far to build proper tension. They often pop out of the gate or get unaligned making the gate pop open. I've had to completely readjust the gate several times. I plan to move this gate to a smaller opening and get a different gate to replace it.

Perfect for Puppy

We recently adopted a puppy and needed a way to keep the puppy out of our daughter's bedroom. A standard pressure gate is too high for our 6 year old to climb over so we needed a gate with a door. This gate was easy to install. It only took me about 10 minutes, including reading the directions, which were written well. We did not need to use the extension for her bedroom doorway. Our 6 year old has no problem opening the door on the gate. It is very easy to use. At the time we installed the gate our puppy weighed about 8 pounds and she was already too big to squeeze between the bars so it worked out perfectly. This is a great gate for the price. I would definitely recommend it.

small opening

We bought this gate for two different doorways. It was very easy to install and appears that it will hold tight, but there are some shortcomings. If you put it at the bottom of the stairs, the door will only swing one way (ie, if you want the gate to open the gate the opposite direction, it won't). Also, the opening is very small and it will be easy for my kids to figure it out once they are a little bigger, but it fits our needs for now.

Easy to use

I got this gate to keep my dog in. He's starting to get big and if he jumps on it just right he can somehow manage to get it open but other then that its a good product. Its easy to assemble and you can open and close it with one hand, which is quite nice.

Better than expected!

This gate delivers what it promises. Its construction is completely solid; the gate is tall enough to house any medium-sized dog with ease (our medium-sized dog has anxiety and can jump onto a counter-height kitchen table, but he hasn't tried jumping this, yet); is attractive and clean-looking; locks with a simple pull-mechanism; and the door allows you to leave gate up without getting in the way. The only drawbacks are that the bottom support bar running across the length essentially prevents you from raising the gate above floor level (in case you wanted it a few inches higher, for example), and the lock is simple enough for a toddler to figure out (although the pull-back lever to release the lock takes a firm grip, and you have to pull it back at the same time as you raise the release bar). Also, the way to fasten the gate onto the door is by screwing and unscrewing the 4 edge bolts. Once the gate's on, it's perfect, but getting the exact fit for your door is frustrating. Not hard, but frustrating :)
