With the extension, the gate was too wide for the opening: Without it, the adjustments were set almost to the max, so I got out a hacksaw and whacked an inch or so off. Now, it fits perfectly with the extension. It withstood the attacks of a 16 month old toddler trying to get out, and the best efforts of two 40 plus pounds Brittany Spaniels to get in, yet allowed two harried cats to escape either in or out.

These gates filled the bill for our needs.Keeping our dogs out of parts of the house, but still allowing easy accsess to the rest of the family. The best part is they can be taken down when guests are over with no problem. They are very easy to open even in the dark (For a adult) But are quite secure from a small child or pet.

Very easy to install. Serves the purpose perfectly. I purchased this gate for my maltese pup. She can't get thru but very easy for us to open and close. My granddaughter who is 4 also has no problem opening and closing. Extremely happy with my purchase. Would recommend!!!

The gate we had was so difficult to use I would walk to the other end of our porch and down some stairs to the other exit to avoid the gate at our front stairs. After struggling with a standard baby gate for a month I saw this gate at my daughters home. She uses 4 of them to keep my granddaughter off the stairs and at the front door. I was impressed at how easy it was for even the other children to use and because of that they never left the gate open if they were going to only be a minute and then they would be back. It was so easy! Ordered it on line and and picked it up at the store. I love the easy lift latch! The lock feature makes it secure from my granchildren but its easy enough for an adult to use with one hand

Put this gate up at the bottom of our stairs (to keep curious duo from climbing the steps) and my son took it down the first day. We placed it square in the area, secured the rubber anchors on all four corners as tight as they would go and they still bowed when the gate was bumped the least little bit. Plan to return and get a different gate.

Having a 2.5 pound chihuahua and trying to potty train was a challenge with the old gate, we had to either step over it or take it down every time we wanted to go into the room where the puppy stays when not supervised. Now, with just a lift of a latch, wallah, gate swings open and closes easily, no more messing around to get into that room. Great gate, very durable, inexpensive when it comes to these types of gates. Makes our lives much easier!

I like this gate, but we have a little 2 pound puppy that can slip right thru the bars. I'm hoping in a couple of weeks she will be a little bigger and the problem will be solved, but right now I am back to blocking off the gate and the doorway with the cardboard that the gate came in. The gate is very sturdy and easy to open to walk thru and will be great when my puppy gets a little bigger.

We purchased this swing gate to use for our pets. It is installed in a doorway and works wonderfully for our needs. No matter where you install it I would recommend using the screw in brackets that are included. It says to use at the top of stairs, but we found that it makes the gate feel more secure with them on rather than off. For the price we expected a lessor product and were pleasntly suprised by the sturdyness of the Regalo gate. It also came with an expansion piece if we ever decide to use it in a wider space.

This is a good gate. It definitely serves its purpose. The only thing I would change would be the locking mechanism. It is too easy for my kids to open. I wish they made something that kids wouldn't figure out in five minutes! Other than that it's a great gate. Would recommend it to anyone with a child/children 2 or younger.

the gate was perfect for 3 separate entry ways in my home, and is being used to contain my 2 small puppies room by room. the walmart price at 31 dollars is extremely reasonable compared to the same identical gate at Petsmart store for 79 dollars. if you are using for a small child the latch handle is very secure.
