It’s a good gate if you are not worried about getting a baby or a pet stuck between the vertical bars of the gate. Anything that got through the opening you trying to block off will keep trying again. Having such wide opening on this gate is a big problem for me, and presenting quite the challenge to come up with a solution to block it. I’m using this for a small dog that squishes herself right through this gate. It’s easy to set up.

This item is very easy to install, you can have it up and ready within 10 minutes, a little longer if you opt to do a little more hardware installation which is optional. Using the locking mechanism (opening and closing it) is counter intuitive (before buying it, I thought you squeeze the handle to open, instead you must lift it), but after a short time you get used to it. The gate is well made and solid for what it is and a good value for about $32. I use mine as a gate to keep my dogs from entering in to areas that they shouldn't. I am giving this product only 4 stars instead of 5 because the passageway (the opening) that the swinging gate creates is narrower than I prefer.

This gate was very easy to install, it took just a few minutes, and it is attractive and far superior to the old expansion wood frame gate. It opens easy and it stays in place much better. It does require putting holes in the wall to secure it properly, but I was able to secure it with pressure just as the old expansion gate was.

the gate was perfect for 3 separate entry ways in my home, and is being used to contain my 2 small puppies room by room. the walmart price at 31 dollars is extremely reasonable compared to the same identical gate at Petsmart store for 79 dollars. if you are using for a small child the latch handle is very secure.

We bought this gate because we wouldn't have to drill holes into our banister at the stairs. That is a plus with this. Cons: The gate opening is very small, so if you're carrying your baby/carseat, diaper bag, and purse- or even just 1 of these things, it is very difficult to get through the "door" part of it, especially if you're using this gate on stairs. It is also difficult to open and close if your hands are full. I would recommend this gate for anywhere in the house besides at your stairs.

This Regalo Easy Step through gate is by far the best baby gate I have come across. I have tried a few others and found them very frustrating to install and to open. But the Regalo gate is fast and easy to install, and fits all the different door widths through out my entire house. Plus, once installed they are so simple to open, although figuring out how to do it one handed can be a bit tricky. I would definitely recommend this gate to anyone with kids or pets.

I purchased several of these gates. For the record, when I read reviews I am VERY skeptical as to their validity. Therefore I will tell you I am in North Grafton, MA 01536. Just a hint that I am real. In any event, I made purchase of several of these gates. They were easy to install and I especially love the locking mechanism on the top of the gate. It's great! It requires you to slide back small "catch" so that you can then open the handle. Great safety feature!

Love the gate. It is very safe. Extra optional twist latches at the bottom of the gate to keep it secure if u have it at the top of the stairs. 4 stars only because the gate opening to walk through is pretty marrow and it is challenging walking through with something as common as a laundry basket in your hand. Overall I love it though.

Love this gate. I bought it for a new puppy. It installed in minutes and I like the fact that it's very easy to open. Since I'm using it for a puppy, I don't need to lock the handle each time so all you have to do is lift. If you were using it for a child, it's very easy to lock the handle so they can't open the gate themselves. It fit in my 40 inch doorway just fine.

Worked great to keep my 1 yr old grandson from getting to our stairs. Easy to put together and I liked having the extension for different walkways. So far it stood up for a 2 week visit from the grandkids. The older kids loosened the wall pads with their running into it, but that's normal for kids having fun. It survived and will be ready for the next visit!
