I have never used an unscented detergent and I went into this apprehensive that it would smell of chemicals or not leave my clothes smelling fresh or clean. I am happy to report that those concerns were not a problem! The detergent doesn’t smell of any artificial scenting agents. It has a very mild scent of cleaner (which makes sense being that it is still a detergent) but it isn’t offensive to the nose at all. Upon taking my clothing out of the wash there was no lingering detergent scent or any other odor. My clothes felt just as clean and fresh as with any other scented detergent. This Tide fragrance free detergent has challenged my preexisting notions on the deficiencies of fragrance free detergents, and in my journey to find cleaner and gentler products, I actually foresee myself seeking out unscented products like this one in the future!

Especially in cold water. I have detected a chemical odor in some unscented products. That is not the case with Tide Pure and Gentle. I have found my new favorite detergent.

I felt safe using this product and not having to worry about skin issues and breakouts from whatever chemicals are in it. I felt like it cleaned my laundry just as well as traditional detergent. I will purchase this kind exclusively now, and I’d recommend the same to anyone regardless of preexisting skin issues or not.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started using this product 2 weeks ago on my family’s clothes, including baby clothes and my husband’s work clothes. Tide Free and Gentle easily cleaned up any blowouts that were on my baby’s clothes easily without using any additional products. I just made sure to throw them in the wash asap. My husband’s clothes needed an extra cleaning agent to help remove any oil and grease on his clothes, but I expected that since his clothes get very dirty. I was still extremely happy with how well my clothes came out feeling clean without a bunch of added fragrance.

It seems to wash clothes well and doesn’t leave any weird residue. I did notice that if the clothes had any sort of odor to begin with (smoke, mildew, etc) the odor was not completely removed in one wash.
