[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Read the reviews. Many are complaining about blades breaking off. Wrote one about a week ago but they have already removed it from the site. After just one use, the blades broke off when chopping ice. KitchenAid said there was nothing that could be done because our unit was an older unit. Given the price of the blender, I would expect it to last more than one use and thought at least, that KitchenAid would stand behind it.

Love this blender functionality, speed. Will buy another one. Love that the pitcher is all one unit. However, we have owned it three years and the plastic piece under the pitcher broke. You can't buy a new piece. You have to buy a whole new pitcher. Should hold up better than that. We don't use it every day so not significant wear and tear.

I received this as a wedding gift and have had it since mid-September 2018. We used it for morning smoothies and nothing else until this week when we decided to try to make some margaritas. The first pitcher was fine with no major issues but while making the second pitcher the blade shaft sheared while crushing the ice.

Not only do I make lots of protein shakes for a quick and healthy meal option, I make lots of fruit shakes for friends. Those fruit shakes contain nothing but juice and frozen fruits, and the blender has to work to power through those frozen strawberries, peaches, and bananas. I purchased a Ninja 2 years ago. I liked it, and it worked pretty well for quite a while. However, I began to notice that it was starting to really struggle to chop through ice and frozen fruits. Also, the upper blade had gotten stuck and I could not separate it for better cleaning. Before it bit the dust completely, I began looking at buying a new blender. I decided to go with KitchenAid instead because of their reputation for quality. I was hoping to get a blender that would last longer and do the job better and faster. I'm glad I purchased when I did because days later, the upper blade on my Ninja completely wore through the plastic and now spins freely instead of chopping into the contents of the blender. I have used my KitchenAid countless times since I bought it, and I am very pleased. I can't say what its longevity will be, but its performance is excellent. I hope I'm done with blender shopping for a very long time to come.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Appliance works great until the pitcher starts leaking. I can fix the leak temporarily using two pliers but it always starts leaking again with a couple of uses. Doesn't seem to be a permanent way to fix it. Can't recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had several Kitchen Aid blenders. One died after many years; I broke the last one dropping it! This one is even better than the earlier ones with the new ice feature. I looked into other blenders, but decided to go with the Kitchen Aid as I have a mixer and a food processor. I am glad I did!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this blender as a gift. I haven't used it all that much but the hand full of time I have used it, it's been great. Not too loud blends and crushes ice perfectly. It also looks really nice, it doesn't take up too much counter space.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this a month ago and have been very happy with the results! Crushes Ice perfectly, but do not try to make cheesecake batter in it (my food processor wasn't big enough, it was worth a shot). It does seem to be pretty loud unfortunately, so I don't use it in the morning so as not to wake up my neighbors.

I bought one of these blender in February partly because of the brand name and larger pitcher, & it's already dead. Blades bent within a couple of months, now it doesn't work at all. I only use it once or twice a week to make smoothies. Had cheaper ones that last at least 2 years or more, this one less than a year.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prior to this purchase, I believed that all blenders were sort of wimpy and that for real power you had to pay hundreds of dollars for a smoothie maker/ice crusher. I am so glad I was wrong. This KitchenAid blender packs a punch! I'm also pleased with ease of cleaning. Clean up is quick enough to make actually using the blender worth it.
