There are a lot of less expensive cheaply made toasters out there but they do not offer the same features nor do they toast as evenly from my experiences. This toaster will stay in my kitchen for a long time.

The lift definitely prevents you from sticking your fingers in a hot toaster. Evenly toasts. The darker options are pretty dark and will not be used in my house. Will likely only use the first 2-3 out of 5 options. Setting are consistent on both sides.

Only funny thing is that when the toast pops up, the toaster also beeps and the dog is scared of it! Adds a laugh to our mornings.

It has a wide range of temperatures for the light or dark toast lovers. I also love the 'stop' feature so that I don't pull on the handle to pop the toast up if I want to stop it mid-cycle. This feature keeps the spring mechanisms in great shape This sleek stainless toaster looks so good next to my other kitchenaid appliances. Very pleased with my purchase!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We needed to replace our toaster as our current one was on it's last leg and would either brown too light or way too dark. Toast was always cold or as hard as a rock. Kitchen Aid has always been a stand out brand as far as quality and ease of use to me. I also own a stand up mixer and always enjoy using that so I was thrilled to find a toaster from the same brand and due to it's quality I wasn't hesitant to purchase this toaster. We really enjoy this toaster now and love that we can make 4 pieces of bread all in one shot. The quality of the toast is over the top with the ability to dial up or down for desired color. I can even walk away to make the coffee and be assured my bread will pop up when finished and I can hear the beep to know it's indeed ready from the next room.
