Love This Toaster

This toaster is great! We didn’t have any issues with it toasting unevenly. Everything is coming out nice and even. The outside of the toaster does not get too hot, which is important for us because our kids use it. The slots are nice and wide. It’s definitely an upgrade from our old toaster!

Great Toaster So Far-2 Weeks

We’ve had the toaster for a couple of weeks and so far we love it. No issues with toasting etc. I read other reviews that said it didn’t toast well on one side but we’ve not had that issue. The toaster has a BAGEL option button as well as CANCEL button to pop up toast. If you press BAGEL the toaster will toast more on the flat side and less on the crust side of bagel. Maybe the one-sided issues are people are pressing the BAGEL button?

Looks nice on the countertop. Fingerprints and smudges easily wipe off but I'm slightly disappointed with the mechanics of the toaster. Must set the browning level high to get a slight color (about 4) and if set at 5 the toast burns. Also takes longer to toast. Toasting bagels is fine as long as level is set on 5. I do like the high lift lever since I can retrieve the bread without using a utensil. The sound at end of cycle is also a nice feature when busy fixing other items for breakfast.

Good, Not GREAT

Considering this is a KitchenAid appliance, I was expecting better quality. Overall, it gets the job done, it toasts bread, bagels, PopTarts, etc. However the levers really need to be pushed and held down for the toaster to engage, and it feels cheap; I anticipate the kids breaking the knobs sooner rather than later. The dial for toasting needs some adjusting: selecting 2 on the dial doesn’t fully toast a piece of sandwich bread, but selecting 3 toasts one side of bread perfectly but the other side is BURNED. This is the same for either slot used. Being able to select a ‘toasting time’ between the numbers on the dial would be great. There’s not many options on the market for reasonably priced 4-slice toasters, this KitchenAid gets it done, but I’m not in love with it (but I’m also not willing to spend over $100+ for a higher-end option).

Burned Out

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second 4 slice toaster after returning the original for uneven toasting. No. 2 is basically the same as I have adjusted the dial over and over and still get burned items. i have always had great faith iin KitchenAid products as I love my mixer, but I think I will have second thoughts about purchasing another small appliance.

Doesn't toast well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this toaster for a Christmas gift and I am very unhappy with it. My old toaster was a Kitchenaid and it was a very good toaster but this one doesn't toast evenly. One side of the toast is always toasted more than the other side. Also it has to be turned down to the very bottom level not to burn.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been trying to give this toaster a chance, just to see if it needed breaking in. It had a horrible plastic smell the first few times I used it, and I thought that might be causing my main issue....it burns everything. Unfortunately the smell is gone but the burning continues. I have put it on every setting just to see, bought a cheap loaf of bread just to test it, and the only difference in the levels is just how burned it becomes. The lowest setting is DARK and crunchy, the highest setting can be best described as "cremated". I had a kitchen aid two slot toaster for 11 years that toasted beautifully, the lowest setting was low, and the highest/darkest setting got things about as dark as the lightest setting on this toaster. I only got this one because I have kids and needed to speed up breakfast in the morning, thus requiring a larger toaster. So disappointed, if I could give it negative stars I would.

Doesn’t work as it should not for $107 it doesn’t

That activator arm to start the toaster does not work. It keeps popping up. It doesn't attach at the bottom when you first put the toast in very frustrating for a brand new toaster.
