Very Oily Beans

I will say that I appreciate that these are single origin beans at a reasonable price, however, the beans are over roasted, making them excessively oily. There was so much oil that it clogged my burr grinder. After a few tries, I just gave up. I also didn’t care for the taste, but that’s personal preference. If you use a Breville Grind Control coffee maker like I do, or something similar, I’d suggest a medium roast that doesn’t have too much oil excreted already.

Wonderful full coffee flavor

Wonderful full flavor & smooth coffee. We tried Pablo's Pride out of curiosity when it first appeared in our Sam's club, we were instantly enchanted. Our coffee maker is a "grind+brew" type thus each pot is from a fresh grind, Mmm. Please keep Pablo's Pride available, it is worth the cost of membership!

Good Coffee - Great Price

I first came across Don Pablo when it was mentioned favorably in a couple of independent coffee reviews alongside $20/lb brands. Make no mistake, Pablo’s Pride Guatemalan should be considered a dark-roast coffee, comparable to many other brand’s French-roast. When I did my own side-by-side taste-test with Boyer’s French-roast, the body and roast-level were similar, but I found Pablo’s Pride to be “earthy” and “smoky”, with a more interesting character, versus the “ordinary” Boyer’s. It may not be everyone’s cup-of-coffee, but I like it. I frequently mix my Pablo’s Pride beans 50-50 with a good medium-roast decaf, like Caribou-brand, and IMHO this produces a near-perfect cup without quite the jazz of the full-caf dose. BTW, I drink a lot of coffee and my standard is to weigh 20g per cup on a scale before grinding. That may sound like a lot, but it is what I use with most brands.

Wonderful aroma but flat taste

The smell of the beans was amazing but I'm used to a more robust full bodied dark roast coffee. It lacked taste and body unlike my San Francisco Bay French Roast coffee. I'll try to grind the coffee beans finer as one reviewer said and see what I come up with but as for buying again, I don't recommend it for people who want a full body flavor. There's just something missing.

Changed from Starbucks

We always drank Starbucks Pike Place for years. When the price started climbing every few visits we decided to try Pablo's Pride because of the much lower price. My husband's idea not mine. I cringed. Let me tell you this is every bit as good if not better. Over the years I have found myself wanting my coffee stronger and stronger but it would turn out bitter. Not Pablo's. Always smooth no matter how strong I make it. I love this stuff and the price!!

Smooth flavor coffee at a reasonable price

I've tried and read reviews of different brands of coffee, and found this brand to be the best. Sam's Club offers this coffee at a reasonable price. Sam's Club online delivers the coffee to my house, although most of the time there's a shipping fee. PS: Great that there's a moderator!

Best Coffee in the World!!!

I am a coffee snob! I admit it! lol This is the only coffee I've had in my house the last 3 years with the exception of Jamacian Blue Mountain that we brought back from Jamaica. Pablo's Pride beats it to pieces!! It's the BEST coffee in the world! Love it!

Awful

A total disappointment. This brewed the worst coffee I've ever had. I have a hard time describing the flavor as there wasn't much coffee taste just more like hot nasty dishwater might taste . I brewed 3 pots and even adding more coffee beans to brew and it didn't add any taste. I've had this a few times before and liked it but this batch must have been sitting around for a few years . I will never buy this again .

Fantastic Buy

The coffee is good, the price is unbeatable. This is a great bargain overall. I give it 4 stars due to the value. It's not the best coffee you'll ever drink but it is good. Nice, dark, oily beans that aren't over roasted and bitter. Much better than average run of the mill coffee, and when you factor in the fantastic price, it's hard to beat and gets 4 stars.

Great smooth coffee

We love this coffee. I would rate is as a medium roast coffee. There is NO bitterness-very smooth. We usually like a darker roast coffee but most come with a bitter or sour taste. We can use less cream and sugar because its so smooth. We also like the Sams Brand Espresso roast but they stopped carrying it in our store. Blending this with a dark roast might work well.
