I waited for at least a year before deciding on a doorbell cam. This is the right one. I like the different color change plates, the app and overall appearance. The unlimited storage is an extra $4.99/month, but worth it in my opinion. It is a little sensitive, as we have a large American flag on a post in front of it that will set it off when the wind gets up, but isn't a total nuisance. Very happy with this, especially on sale!

Great camera for the price. Simple set up. Ensure it is charged prior to initial set up, otherwise it'll frustrate you. If the battery is depleted it will appear as though it is not powering up. Other than that it is a straight forward process to get up and running. The camera comes with changeable face plates (black and greenish) not available from SimpliSafe directly.

We have this doorbell since Dec. 2023. This one was purchased for a family member. Both have been great. Both we self installed with no issues. We don't try to answer the doorbell on the app because we find it too slow. We are probably doing it wrong/poorly. We are happy with it in every other way. Previously we had the Google doorbell. The Simplisafe is by far our preference thus far.

This was so simple to install I didn’t have to ask my husband for assistance. We have solid copper wiring so getting the copper around the the screw connections was the most difficult. After turning the power back on it took a few minutes until the bell would ring properly again which momentarily had me doubting my instillation abilities. Setup was easy and the app works great.

Works good within limits, video is good, motion detection works good although doesn’t detect as far out as I would like (we have a long narrow entry area) so I don’t think it is the unit’s fault, audio is good although you need to remember there is about a 2 second delay each direction when trying to speak to someone at the door. I am very satisfied for what I paid compared to other units available

I bought the SimpliSafe Video Doorbell, because I am a SimpliSafe customer. I had to order a mounting bracket off Etsy due to the type of siding we had. We finally got the doorbell attached, but our chime was buzzing very loud after it was attached. I contacted SimpliSafe and they sent a chime connector. Apparently this is a common problem, not only with them, but other companies. We are installing it tomorrow and hope I can finally use my video doorbell.

Purchased this to go with the SimpliSafe Security system. I tried it out as a stand alone doorbell using the IOS app for the doorbell. Works OK but recording are not save unless you pay for a camera fee or with the Simplisafe monitoring system. With the monitoring system the doorbell is great. It records any motion and stores it for 30 days. Good picture quality. Night vision works fairly well but not as much clarity if greater that 20 feet. Daytime quality is great and you can zoom in using the app

Overall this is a good product but there are a few caveats. 1) Only some doorbells are compatible and SimpliSafe does not have a listing of those that are. I had to change out my digital doorbell as a result 2) The mounting bracket is fragile 3) I had to set the motion sensitivity to low because every car driving by set it off at medium sensitivity I would only recommend this if you have a SimpliSafe security system

Anytime a person comes to the door, I am notified. If they ring the bell, I know that too. It has the ability to distinguish between human & animal shapes, so I am not bothered every time a cat walks by. (I know someone with another popular video doorbell system, and it goes off all the time due to animals. The video here is great. I would have given 5 stars, but the audio is so-so. When I have talked to people, we tend to have to repeat ourselves a lot. I am not sure if it comes from talking at the same time or what. A little like talking on a walkie talkie. Still I am thrilled with the product and recommend it to anyone.

Final piece of the pie for our home security system. The price was right and shipping was fast and it arrived on time as started. The only downside was it requires a chime module that you have to install in your doorbell chime assembly, an easy install but you have to get the chime module from SimpliSafe who’s customer service is second to none.
