I tried the Blink video doorbell. I do not have an inside pre-wired chime therefore the doorbell did not work for me. I tried several options. Apparently if you have an iPhone it will chime on the iPhone. So, SimpliSafe has the BEST OPTION for me since I do have the SimpliSafe alarm system. I should have gone there first but the price was the issue. It was so high everywhere. Also no where did I see that it would chime inside. So I did find an inside chime adapter that would work with the SimpliSafe doorbell. After my son installed it I was amazed! Not only did it chime with the adapter it also chimed on the BASE!! Well great wonders!! Be it known that yes it will chime inside on your SimpliSafe base if you have the alarm system installed. Now you know too. Fantastic system!! Worth every dollar and Sam's has the best price!!!

Does what it’s supposed to do. Audio and images come through clear. It records a little over a minute for each motion detection and there are different levels of sensitivity you can select. My only complaint is the app is a little glitchy but it works perfectly 90% of the time. I’m trusting they’ll fix it Soon!

After moving my flag which was located on the porch it works great. It was sending me alerts when the wind blew to the flag in front of the entry way.

The Simplisafe doorbell is very easy to install.and works well as a doorbell but it as a security device. It lacks any ability to customize the camera motion fields or schedule different periods of sensitivity. Pretty disappointing product. Don't waste your money.

Install took 3 hours, including +1 hour on phone with very nice lady. The unit installed on the house in minutes, no problem. The problem was the install into my phone. Had to switch my 5g to 2 g. It only works with 2 or 2.4g. Sound was an issue. We finally gave up, luckily waiting until next day to retackle allowed battery to recharge, so it worked fine. So bottom line is 2g wi fi, let battery charge, call for help - they are really nice. (And seemed very practiced at helping)

Installation instructions oversimplify to the point of being no help. I had to call for help and I’m a techno nerd. After 4 cameras I got one to work only to find that they will record nothing unless you are hostage to a subscription and that’s only for recording on one camera. Without a subscription all you have is the live view. SimpliSafe is evasive and some of their phone representatives are poorly informed. Without the subscription these are absolutely without merit. I hope I can return mine. Now I also have 4 sets of ugly holes around my doors as a reminder.

Would give it a zero if possible. It will not work properly. First one just made the doorbell continually ring. Simplisafe CSR hung up on me when I said I purchased from Sams. Second one did the same thing. Neither one would connect with the main Simplisafe tower or app. Second attempt to contact CSR when 35 minutes with no answer. I installed new wire, transformer, and doorbell unit to confirm it wasn't something else. Simpli-safe--Simpli-don't work.

I thought this was the only piece of equipment needed for security but apparently you need something else. I wish that was more explanatory on the package. Returned it.

Plus they didn’t add a disclaimer telling you that. Who s stupid enough to sell something that only works on maybe a third of the doorbells. The older ones at that. Very disappointing the amount of time lost messing with it.
