Years ago this came with a "slide cutter", made from plastic. Now it has a sharp-edged cutter edge that is NOT user friendly. Even though we followed the instructions to feed the plastic film through the top of the box, and inserted the blade upright in front, two things would happen: 1) we had to keep opening the top to get the next part of the plastic film ready to go thru & cut. 2) when we tried to leave the cutter edge toward the outside of the box, it then left the cutting edge exposed, and potentially there to cut fingers . Wish they would come back with the slide cutter which would be safer. Other brands in stores (with a smaller size roll) have the slide cutter - MUCH more efficient.

The box was a bit hard to open but after I got the package set up the wrap was easy to use and cut. the wrapping clings nicely to itself and to glass bowls, wooden bowls don't keep the wrap on. I am really liking this foodservice film. It clings to most surfaces and is really wide so it can cover large pans. Moreover, it is very easy to pull out and cuts very cleanly. Pros: This was pretty good plastic wrap. I liked that it didn't stick together or get twisted as much as other brands I have tried when I was pulling the wrap out, and it was fairly easy to untwist when needed, while other brands are often a lost cause and I have to get a new piece. The film didn't feel too thin, and it was easy to wrap with. I think this is a good deal if you are needing a lot of plastic wrap for holiday baking, or for a large organization's kitchen (like a church or school.) Cons: However, I think the dispenser part of the product could use some re-engineering. It is not easy to tear using the slot at the top of the box. Once I do get the piece, the remaining portion is so low below the boss that it takes extra effort to pull the film up again to the top and start the process over. I have a small dispenser that you slide a small blade across, but this roll is much to big to put in that dispenser. I would love to see a sliding blade or another improvement for the dispensing/tearing part. Verdict: For regular home use, I think I prefer the ease of dispensing and storage with my smaller product and dispenser, over the value of buying in bulk with the Members Mark food film and the slight improvement of wrap quality. I agree that there needs to be some sort of directions on how to set up the cutter. Had I not stumbled on one of the reviews that explained the procedure I’d still be fumbling about trying to get the cuter to work. The product itself is very good and a great value and a lot easier to use than the small rolls sold in super-markets (once you know how to set the box up).

This plastic wrap will be used often in my household. It is a tremendous amount of product for the price. I like the 12 inch width and the product has enough cling to keep food sealed well. Okay: You need time, technique, and patience to get the good out of this Member's Mark Foodservice Film! The issue is that the film is so clingy, and the roll is so heavy that it's very hard to unravel. It sticks and tears, and you'll need to get inside of the box and unstick what's stuck, or you'll waste a lot of the wrap. The film cutting board is also unpleasant, and you need to be patient and careful each time so you don't cut yourself on it. If you are patient enough to use 2 hands and pull upward while using your pinkies to tease this film off of the roll as you pull upward, it won't tear/split. I promise. The PROBLEM is that in the food service industry, nobody has time to babysit their plastic wrap, so this roll is very frustrating! At home, however, it just takes some patience and practice, and you'll get great, practical use from this roll of quality clingy wrap for many months. It's hearty. It has enough cling with flexibility to really hug, seal, and protect whatever you're wrapping. A good double wrap with this film even hides the smell of cut onions in my refrigerator. My last roll lasted for nearly 12 months. (11 months and 3 weeks.)

This is the first time I have tried this kind of food film, and so far it's been surprisingly easy to use. The cardboard box it comes in is quite big, but the wheel rolls easy and it cuts clean without having to fidget much. The film itself is sturdy and holds up good, even when stacked in the fridge.
