Used to be great, now it's terrible

We're like several other people who've been using this for years and are now suddenly disappointed with the current product. The box doesn't even have a way to cut the film so we're constantly trying to find scissors etc. It rips in all the wrong places because the current plastic is cheap and super thin, making the next set harder to get off. A super cheap change for the worst. We won't be buying this ever again and certainly won't be recommending it to anyone.

Needs Directions!

No matter what product you have, it needs to operate right and have very clear directions so other people can understand them well. This product may be of good quality but without any directions on setting up the box to work properly, this product is no good to me, and the quality can not be rated well. After messing around with it for 45 minutes and reading other reviews including some directions by another user that I could still not figure out, I will no longer waste more time trying to figure something out that could have been solved easily with a simple diagram on the bottom of the box. Im a dedicated Sams club Member and spend thousands and thousands of dollars a year. This product will go back to the store and I will purchase another brand elsewhere that does have directions. Pretty poor Bakers & Chefs....

does not cling to surface...

I bought this film wrap thinking it's same as the old "baker and Chef" film, which we used for a long time. I am surprised how poor quality is. It does not stick/cling to the surface, or even its self. It maybe a cheaper plastic film material or the film surface does not have the right static charge+, or treatment! disappointed....

Not What We Expected

For several years we have been very happy with the Baker & Chef Food Wrap Film with sliding cutter and bought it at the Sam’s Club store nearest to us. To save time and gasoline (1.5 hrs each way for us) we decided to order 2 off the Sam’s Website and pay shipping and handling. We thought we were ordering the exact same Baker & Chef wrap with slider. In fact the Sam’s Website shows the product to be Baker & Chef. However, when we received the two wraps it was a “Daily Chef” food wrap product. The wrap film is inferior (thinner and does not hold to products) to Baker & Chef plus has no sliding cutter—the cutter on the Daily Chef product was a very poor design. We will take the 2 wrap packages back next time we go to Sam’s in person.

Excellent product at a great price

After I first opened and yanked out a piece of film I thought it felt a little less clingy and a bit thicker than the one I purchased a few years ago. However, after using it for a while, I actually prefer this because it doesn't curl and stick to itself immediately after ripping off a piece and before being able to wrap it on to a plate, bowl, cup, etc. Unlike some previous reviews, I had no problems with the serrated edge cutter that comes with the package. It takes only a minimum amount of effort to open the carton and place it inside along the front edge as shown in the accompanying photo. I highly recommend the Member's Mark food-service film over other branded products.

Horrible

The plastic film is fine, but the cutting device is useless. It cuts poorly, enevenly and crumpled the film. If it had a sliding cutter like other similar products it would be fine. We've taken the rolls out of the last two purchased out of the box and put them into an old "Bakers & Chef's" box with a sliding cutter and it works great. Simple fix. Replace the fixed cutter with a slider and it would be a great product.

Where is the old sliding cutter?

I bought this product mainly because of the ease of use with the sliding cutter which was mounted on top previously. I opened the box to find that the excellent and easy to use cutter has been replaced with a serrated bar which is a giant step backwards as noted by another member. It's going back to store tomorrow and hopefully the one at BJ's still has the nice cutter. So typical of companies trying to save a few pennies at the expense of quality!

What happened to the quality??

We have been buying this wrap for years because of the quality and value. We usually purchase a new roll when the one being used gets down to about 1/3 left so we couls be sure that we never ran out. So this is a review for the roll we purchased about a year ago and just started using. What happened??? it used to be a sturdy plastic wrap but when we started using it, the wrap was tearing, and I don't mean tearing where we were cutting, I mean tearing mid sheet. It is very thin and we could definitely feel the difference. And we paid significantly more than we had been paying for the better quality in the past. And the product had to be purchased on line, not available in store. I am very disappointed in Sam's yet again - this was not the only product we'd been buying that has gone cheap. The only reason to stay with Sam's is because of the pharmacy. If that was taken away, we'd quickly become former members.

Garbage. Give me back the slide cutter!

I have 22 years of education. I can't figure this box out. Even if it did work well, it's an old serrated cutter... Does anybody have a clue how to cut extremely light food film on a serrated edge WITHOUT it sticking to itself and making a mess? I will be returning this product for the second time. The slide cutter was amazing! Bring it back. Bring it back. BRING IT BACK!

Foodservice Film

Fair quality film. Only problem is there are no instructions. It is tricky to assemble the box to use the film. I got my instructions from another user, thank you so much, sorry can't remember the name, but it was "from SD" Even though this is for industrial use there should be assembly instructions for those of us that purchase it, give good money for it, and the seller makes a nice profit from me. Just saying, it would be nice if the product had instructions.
