Seems like a different product

I've used this coffee for years and this time it seemed like a different product. Usually very dark and oily beans and this time dry and ugly brown. Still ok but not as robust as usual.

Start The Day Off Right Coffee

After trying many brands of whole bean coffee, we have enjoyed the full flavor of Members Mark French Roast. It has been consistent in quality and in taste.

Please keep it on shelves. I see it sells

I really wish they could keep this is stock. I have gotten people to really like this coffee. When I was in New Hampshire my house many people stopped by for coffee. Got my doctor hooked on this coffee. Getting people in my new location to like this coffee also. I have heard people in store not happy not finding this coffee. Some I have chatted with. We agree it should be on shelves. I don't have pictures on my phone, but I have about 20 bags on my shelves right now. Got my family hooked on this coffee also. Coffee my %231 drink now days. Keep this coffee BEAN in stock.

Great Coffee Deserves Better Packaging

I brew my coffee via a drip coffee machine most of the time. I occasionally do a pour-over if I only need one cup. I grind it very fine, almost to the point of an espresso grind. I prefer a dark roast with a robust taste, and this definitely fits the bill. It is not overly bitter and leaves a pleasant aftertaste. It is not the best-tasting coffee that I have ever tried, but it is very close. For the price, however, it can't be beat. Those better-tasting coffees are outrageously expensive, and certainly not worth the extra money. As other reviewers have noted, the package is extremely poor, and if you order online, you may have to scoop your beans up out of the box. I have to order mine because my local club does not keep it in stock. The flimsy package is my only complaint. Better packaging is needed for maintaining freshness as well as secure shipping.

Poor Quality

I don't know what has happened to this coffee in the last year but the quality and flavor (read lack therof) is signigicantly worse. In the last year we made two online purcheses. The first was drinkable but decidedly worse than when we first tried this brand/flaver after 8 o'clock started to disappear from grocer shelves. Recently we ordered 6 bags and not one of them wpould make me reordrer. 8 O'clock Dark Italian Roast is back but only in 11.5 oz bags @ $4.53+ or $15.71 for the 3.47 bags = 40oz.. Do yourself a favor - SKIP THIS ONCE DECENT coffee#?)

Terrible Coffee! Yuck!

My local club stopped selling the french roast we loved (starbucks french roast whole bean, if I can say that). The daily chef coffee is a dry medium roast, nothing like a french roast should be. Starbucks beans, when fresh, are oily, not bitter at all and make a great cup of coffee. I bought these to replace starbucks french roast and regret it. A complete waste of money, buy maxwell house or folgers before wasting your money on this.

Bitter, flat taste

I normally buy Starbucks whole bean from Sams Club, but they were out the last time I went. This coffee tastes like any bad coffee you've ever had in at some roadside diner. When you open a bag of Starbucks, the beans are very dark, oily and extremely aromatic. These are very light colored, washed , dry and stale smelling. Not sure how they can call this French Roast! Pay the extra $3 and get the Starbucks.

quality changed

This was my favorite coffee. Oily darkly roasted beans full of flavor. Now the beans aren't nearly as dark, lack the oily look and taste like regular roast coffee. The packaging is inconsistent the bags are not vacuumed sealed correctly which lets air in. coffee is now poor quality

Horrible!

Sam's has stopped carrying the brand we usually buy in store, so we bought this to hold us over until our order arrived. Waste of money! The beans look very light, have little oil to them and smell awful. When ground they aren't any better. Might as well have bought Folger's, because that's what it looks and tastes like.

blah

First off. Let me say, I am a dark roast kinda person. I love French toast, espresso, Italian, etc. I don’t like flavored coffees..I like good quality, strong coffee. This is none of the those. It’s not strong. It’s not flavorful. I have to add 4 heeling spoonfuls for 2 cups of water. Yuck!
