I lived in Sumatra for three years and have consumed more than 30 lbs of Sumatra coffee in the last three years in addition to Kenya... I use to have starbucks sumatra and kenya coffee - BUT never dark roast either K or S... When I ordered the coffee - I don't believe it identified it as a dark roast rather than medium roast (half roast as they call it in Cairo...Dark roast is terrible. I have already given it to some who like dark FREE... The Dark was shiped five days after order place and then took a week to arrive....TOTAL experience - Never Again I have alternative sources...ByeBye

Received my box this morning and popped a Starbucks Sumatra k cup in my Keurig right away. So surprised by the healthy aroma and the wonderful taste! I dislike acidic coffee and this brew is perfect for my taste buds. If you like VN coffee, you can add 2 tsp condensed milk to 10 oz cup and voila, you made your own delicious brew. Make it with 8 oz setting, cool it a little, then pour it over ice cubes for a refreshing iced coffee. I’m ordering another box while it’s on sale, Sumatra is my favorite now

I've been chocolate-whipped cream-with a splash of coffee - drinker for 12 years. But now trying to "eat clean" and though I hate black coffee, I thought I'd give this one a try. The flavor is DELICIOUS! I can ACTUALLY taste the smooth yet bold flavors and with NO BAD AFTER TASTE. If this is what I've been missing in The flavor of REAL coffee then I feel sorry for me.

We're also really focused on ONE type of coffee bean: time after time, blends or multiple types of beans that create a compilation type of roast just do not taste good, as the flavors seem to "fight" each other, and it always shows up in the flavor of the coffee. Although I might have liked to have ground the beans myself to my taste (as well as coffee making apparatus), it's nice to have a break from doing so! In short, with the dark roast, single-origin type, and ground coffee, Sumatra was a big hit -- and I will look for it in the store to purchase! #freesample

First, the negatives: the amount of broken, defective beans; and mainly the excessive roasting of the coffee. The positive: one can still feel the flavor notes advertised, albeit the «french» or «italian» roasting degree. I think it would benefit with a somehow lighter roasting.

Just what we were looking for! My wife and I love the bold taste of a Sumatra coffee and, over the years, we have tried a lot of brands...This Starbucks Sumatra was by far the BEST of all we tried. Yes, it seemed a bit pricy, but for a couple of bucks more it is a GREAT reward in flavor.

While this isn't my absolute favorite it's certainly one of the top three. I stick with the bold flavors and a french press....can't be beat! Awesome morning blend. Will certainly buy again! I just discovered the french press, ten times better than filter brewing....no paper taste, just pure coffee! Thanx Starbucks! Should add another category to "Which Starbucks drink best describes your personality?" Definitely a "Black Eye" ;)
