About this item

Product details

Like the lush Indonesian island of its origin, this spicy coffee stands alone. Full-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel, lingering notes of dried herbs and fresh earth, and almost no acidity. The roasters love transforming these unpredictable beans from dark coral green to tiger-orange to a rich, oily mahogany, revealing bold flavors that many of us can’t live without. Coffee from Sumatra is the foundation of our most treasured blends, and something Starbucks has been honored to share with you for four decades.

Starbucks sources 100% Arabica beans when crafting their coffee. Each coffee bean requires a unique balance of temperature and time to reach its individual peak of aroma, acidity, body and flavor. The Single-Origin Sumatra is crafted with beans from the large Asia-Pacific region. This region is most commonly home to coffees with big and bold flavors that are not found anywhere else in the world.

The Starbucks Difference

It's where sustainable and ethical sourcing meet to create a long-term supply of high-quality coffee and positively affect the lives and livelihoods of coffee farmers and their communities.

Starbucks, in pursuit of premium quality coffee, sources beans from more than 30 coffee-producing countries located within the "Coffee Belt." As a result, we have instituted our own set of comprehensive guidelines to help ensure the coffee we buy is ethically grown and responsibly traded.

Starbucks Sumatra Surgical Nurse

I wish it went on sale more often. It’s my acolyte favorite coffee. I’m a surgical nurse and always bring in tons of Keurig pods to share with my coworkers.

Pretty Good Coffee

This is good coffee, not our normal, but good, flavorful, and smooth. The taste is just a little different, very good. We prefer a Med-Dark to Dark Roast that is not bitter. This coffee works well for us. This K-Cup works well in our non-Keurig brewer...no problems. All the cups are sealed well....no leaks upon arrival. This coffee is worth a try.

Can this be on sale?

I always buy Starbucks, but this has gotten to be too expensive. We’ll probably not keep buying it used to go on sale and I would buy two or three at a time but seems not now.
