[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am usually not a dark roast fan but this Sumatra Ground Coffee is a very smooth blend that does not disappoint. I am very pleased with the taste and smell. I will be purchasing this in the future.

I have been using Sumatra for many years, and I went back to ordering online after inventory levels started to decline in the local stores. This product is over-roasted and does not seem as fresh/aromatic as it was in the past. The beans are dry, with no oil on the surface. As if it were old stock. Sumatra used to be my favorite Starbucks offering, hands down. I'm not giving up yet, but I have had better Sumatra than this last shipment!

My husband and I have been drinking sumatra and decaf sumatra for at least a decade. We have some of each always in the freezer and mix them depending on how much caffeine we want in that particular pot. I love that coffee, and the water-based method of removing the caffeine. Like others I will now have to find another brand who uses that same method because I do not want coffee that has ben treated with methylene chloride or ethyl acetate. Why did you discontinue it? You are losing so many customers.

I purchased this coffee for the family to drink every morning. Myself I enjoy dark roasted but my regular is Starbuck's House Blend or Veranda because my family usually leans towards lighter roasts. When I brewed Starbucks Sumatra it smelled great but when I tasted it let's just say it just tasted burnt. My acid reflux kicked it right up, that's how over roasted this coffee is. The rest of the coffee lovers in my family couldn't stomach this coffee and they love coffee! I couldn't get them to try it again the next day, so I got stuck trying to drink it myself. I watered it down, added less coffee grounds per 6 oz. Nothing worked I had to finally give up and throw the coffee out.

i love decaf sumatra unfortunatly you seem to have discontinued it it is the dark thick strong coffee that most globetrotters love, the expresso blend isnt ldark and strong enough at all. please bring back a truely stong dark decaf like sumatra. oh yeah and make more fun double walled travel mugs that fit under an expresso maker, And maybe you could spnsor one expresso maker so people can find and buy one!!! thats all;) sincerely, truely addicted

I drink only Sumatra now. The low acidity combined with the flavor is heavenly. Request a Sumatra Pour-Over the next time you want a wonderful cup of coffee. It doesn't get any fresher!!! If you are told they don't have Sumatra beans available for pour-over ask that they open a bag. It's work the extra few minutes for this cup of coffee!!

My wife and I were introduced to it about four years ago when her sister brought her own beans during a visit. Prior to that, French roast had been our years-long choice. Sumatra has since been our favorite. I grind the beans to espresso for fullest impact. We take our own beans, grinder, and coffee maker--even to nicer hotels--when we travel in order to ensure our Sumatra satisfaction in the morning.

I bought my first Verisimo the first week they came out. Until recently I only bought the Espresso pods. However I have switched to Sumatra as my coffee of choice. As with another reviewer, I found that purchasing Verisimo pods in a retail location can be a challenge, you have to realize that sometimes the best is not easily available. However purchasing online is easy, and very convenient with rapid delivery.

I'm so disappointed to learn that Starbucks is discontinuing sales of Sumatra Decal...possibly all beans by the pound. I've been buying solely this for over ten years. I see from other reviews, I'm not alone. Starbucks!!! What gives. I know you'll be loosing business as I now have to find something else. So sad. It's the BEST coffe ever. I have converted multiple friends to Sumatra. What will we do? Bring it back PLEASE!!!
