I loved the Komodo Dragon, so my next move could only be Sumatra. Sumatra is much more earthy than the Komodo, which may be an acquired taste for some people. If you prefer crisper, lighter flavors, you may not care for Sumatra. But for those who like a bold brew with a bit more body, Sumatra's a good place to start. I'd especially recommend it if you enjoyed Komodo Dragon or this year's Anniversary Blend, as they share many of the same elements and boldness.

LOVE my new favorite coffee! From the very first cup I knew I had found my coffee! It has an amazing flavor and aroma. The after taste keeps me coming back for more. I usually stock up on it when it's on sale to make sure that I never would run out! Sams offers the best prices out there. Try some today I think you will absolutely fail in love as I did.

It was good. Bold and flavorful, yet not overly impressive. Good coffee but I''ve had better from Starbucks. The earthy smell and taste of this coffee stand out most. The nice, heavy notes linger on the palate. It would have gotten five stars but I just couldn''t bring myself to do it. I found it to be good, not great, yet it was still a good value. I prefer the Guatemala Antigua as I run everything through an espresso machine. Maybe would be best through an automatic drip.

Sumatra is one of Starbucks darkest coffees. I love the bold taste and no bitterness. I drink my coffee black so I expect a rich, smoky coffee flavor. This coffee meets all my expectations of a dark roast. It smells so good I like to brew it in the morning and wake up to the sweet bold smell of Sumatra. It is a great way to start my day.

This is one of my two favorite coffees from Starbucks and is a tie with Komodo Dragon. This is coffee at its best, strong and bold with rich coffee flavor. I don't agree that it has a spicy, dried herbs or earth (do they eat dirt?)flavor; just a wonderful wake-you-up coffee.

This is by far my favorite "strong" brew coffee without any bitterness that usually comes with other bold flavored coffee. If you enjoy a full bodied dark roast, this is for you. Cafe Veronia and Italiian Roast are great too but this brew has more of a full bodied flavor of even those. Beware, if you don't like dark full bodied coffee, then Sumatra definately isn't for you.

Even with the flavored syrups, added sugars, and/or milk, the flavor of Sumatra shines through. It's not abrasive or bitter, but bold. The flavor doesn't get lost.
