Previous to this order, I ordered sumatra decaf whole bean. The beans were very dark as I expected. When I got my order of reg sumatra whole beans, the beans were light colored, tan. When I brew I do half decaf, half reg. I noticed the coffe was lighter. What is wrong?

Sumatra is one of Starbucks best dark roasts. Full bodied, earthy taste, perfect for mornings or whenever I need a lift. I have been buying this coffee by the pound for years and plan to continue. I do find that differences in the taste/texture between the individual pound packages.

What fell short for me was after the coffee was brewed. To me, it tasted muddled. Not the same as it smells. I'd probably choose this over other offerings but I think it could have had a more robust flavor after being brewed.

We are die hard Starbucks fans and only drink it at home. But we are decaf drinkers and Pike's Place doesn't cut it for us. We need more options please! When we found out Sumatra was getting cut from your Decaf list, we drove around to all the Starbucks and bought them all up. We are down to our last one! We don't want to switch to a different coffee brand but I'm not sure we'll have a choice. What do you recommend? (Not Espresso Roast please.)

I've used Starbucks Sumatra for years and got many people hooked on it. but within the past 6-8 months something's changed ..it tastes bitter and it's undrinkable .. I'm not the only person that feels this way.. what's changed??!... And now I'm looking for a replacement.. ☹️

First of all, I was very happy to see that Starbucks (my favorite coffee) joined forces with Keurig (my favorite coffee delivery system). Secondly, the Sumatra coffee is very dark & delicious. I think it's every bit as good as a pot fresh brewed. I get excited just thinking about my first cup in the morning! How can I stay sleepy after such a bold cup of coffee? THANK YOU STARBUCKS!!

I'm so disappointed to learn that Starbucks is discontinuing sales of Sumatra Decal...possibly all beans by the pound. I've been buying solely this for over ten years. I see from other reviews, I'm not alone. Starbucks!!! What gives. I know you'll be loosing business as I now have to find something else. So sad. It's the BEST coffe ever. I have converted multiple friends to Sumatra. What will we do? Bring it back PLEASE!!!
