Excellent coffee!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Starbucks Sumatra Ground Coffee! This has a rich and dark coffee flavor that I adore. I love the high quality cup of coffee that this helps me create. Its dark and flavorful! I often opt for Sumatra when buying coffee since I prefer it. This is a great option for dark roast coffee! #ad #freesample

Smoky flavor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the Starbucks Sumantra Coffee #freesample and it had a bold smoky flavor. I tried it plain and the smoky flavor I could tolerate but when I added powered creamer it intensified the smoky flavor which I didn't like. This Starbucks ground coffee wasn't my favorite one.

PLEEEEEASE bring back the decaf Sumatra!

We are die hard Starbucks fans and only drink it at home. But we are decaf drinkers and Pike's Place doesn't cut it for us. We need more options please! When we found out Sumatra was getting cut from your Decaf list, we drove around to all the Starbucks and bought them all up. We are down to our last one! We don't want to switch to a different coffee brand but I'm not sure we'll have a choice. What do you recommend? (Not Espresso Roast please.)

This is the best Sumatra coffee you can buy today!

I am a true coffee enthusiast (50 years and counting). As Sumatra coffee plantations were damaged in a tsunami, and as Asia begins to embrace coffee over tea, it becomes more difficult to find a really rich, robust, but smooth Sumatra coffee. I find Starbuck's (as usual) has the best beans available, the best roasting techniques, and has created a delightful taste experience for anyone who truly enjoys great coffee. Having a cup of Starbuck's Sumatra coffee in the morning truly makes my day. Starbuck's, you're the greatest!

This coffee is Passable

Living in China I have no option but to buy coffee from Starbucks, a place I call the 'McDonalds of coffee houses' due to their adding vanilla, strawberry, caramel (!!) etc etc to coffee and tarting up my favorite, the Machiato. This coffee is a decent enough full bodied robusta, but I admit when I grabbed the 'Christmas blend vintage Espresso roast ' I did not actually look for the 'made from arabica beans' which of course was not there. Starbucks bases its success on marketing, not the coffee they serve.

What A Treasure!

I recently acquired a Keurig as a gift and set it up on my desk in my study at the Ministry. I have been enjoying your Sumatra Single Origin and find is as close to perfection as one can desire. It’s flavor profile is bold, strong with no bitterness, sweet and smokey, pleasing to the palate and with a marvelous reverberation of taste satisfaction and pleasure with each sip. From hot hot hot in the beginning of the cup all the way to cool there emerge a diversity of flavors that are utterly pleasurable....enough! Go get a pound or a box of k-cups, which btw yield superb coffee experiences.

Best dark roast out there

I am a bit coffee crazy and I especially love an overly strong cup of it. I have tried all Starbucks available darkroasts as well as several other pricier specialty small roasters coffees. Of them all, I keep going Back to Sumatran. This has a nice strong flavor but is very smooth with no acidic after taste, no pungent burnt taste and it has really pleasant flavor notes. This is the perfect dark roast to sip on.

A "go-to" coffee

Love the coffee. Got whole bean. (Customer service/website issue: First time order, I wasn't sure if I could actually choose the grind, i.e. for french press. Maybe that was a later choice option, and I didn't get to that point, but the two choices seemed to be ground or not.) It does give me the excuse to go to my local SB store, have it freshly ground when I am ready...and enjoy a coffee and perfect oatmeal. And a perfect start to my day!

Wonderful!

Was using another brand Sumatra bean and unavailable--bought Starbucks and this is far superior. Have also tried Verona bean but prefer Sumatra for the last 3-4 years. I also use this strongly brewed coffee in my Pumpernickel and Caraway Rye homemade breads and it adds an intense and complex flavor to the breads. Amazing flavor coffee!
