Chews Of Youth
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 12-year-old chihuahua has been gimpy around the house the past few months. Our vet recommended giving him a supplement rich in glucosamine to help with the cartilage in his hip joints. I chose this Nutramax and began giving it to him as a treat: that is how tasty they are. After just two weeks I can see a difference in his gate as he rambles through the yard, and especially when he goes up and down the steps. The relief these chews have brought him shows in every movement he makes.
Jury still out
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just received these Cosequin maximum strength supplement soft chews for small dogs, so not sure of long term effects yet. I do know our two dachshunds like the taste and they are very picky when it comes to taking medicine in any form so kudos on making them appealing. We are hoping it helps our ten year old, as she sometimes has trouble jumping up on couch etc. I did a four star rating, as they have a very strong fish odor, which is not appealing to this human but probably wouldn't bother most people. One thing the odor did for me was to make sure the package was tightly sealed until the next dosage, which is a good thing to keep the chews fresh! I could list all the ingredients but you can get that from the package or reading online but everything sounds safe and is definitely from a reputable company.
Good supplement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is very easy to give. My female took it with no problem, but my male refused to take it. I am guessing he didn't like the smell. My female who is the worst with joint pain, has been moving better after taking this for 3 days. I have to agree with my male, I don't like the smell, but it does do what the package says it will do.
The Best for Joint Health
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Cosequin Joint Health Supplement for my dog Chance. At the age of 7, he was moving slower and I began adding the soft chews to his daily diet. The results were amazing! Chance has crossed over the rainbow bridge now but his pal, Rosie is now up there in years also. At seven, she is having trouble with her hind legs from a birth defect and she somedays limps with her right hind leg, so I decided to get her the Cosequin Supplement Minis (Big Support for Little Dogs). On the label, it states #1 Veterinarian Recommended Brand. Maximum Strength with MSM for mobility, cartilage, and joint support. plus Omega-3s for healthy skin and coat. The soft little chews are designed for small mouths and my little girl is part Pomeranian and part Rat Terrier. On the label, they recommend 1 chew daily for 5-10 lbs and 2 daily for 11-25 lbs. as the initial 4-6 week start. After that, 1 every other day for the 5-10 lbs and 1 a day for 11-25 lbs. So Rosie is taking 2 a day for the start. They smell very fishy and the fish oil is preserved with green tea extract and rosemary, as well as other ingredients, I like that. At first, Rosie spit it out, took it back, spit it out and then chewed it. The second one she took immediately. Now she loves them. Her comfort and well being is very important to me and because of that, I only give her the Cosequin Supplement for her joint health.
Good supplement for arthritis
My 17 year old schnoodle loves these supplements, and takes them like a treat. He is a lot more mobile when he has one a day. My little Lhasa runs up when I get them out thinking they are a treat- she doesn’t need the supplement so I give her a regular treat instead, but when she smells this supplement she walks away. They do have a strong fish smell similar to a fish oil supplement smell. The schnoodle loves them and since he is the one that needs it, these work perfectly in my household. If the Lhasa ever develops arthritis I might need a different product.
My chihuahua started not walking well stiffness an her knees were bad Vet said she might need surgery so I started her on this an she never needed surgery, then my next chihuahua Sassy starts walk-in stiff started her on it an she’s doing better I give thanks to give her This
Stinky, but lots of good ingredients
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Nutramax Cosequin Maximum Strength with MSM Plus Omega-3's Mini Joint Health Supplement for Small Dogs for an unbiased review. First things first, they stink! If you have a picky dog like mine I wouldn’t even try these. I gagged when I smelled inside the bottle. Now on the other hand if your dog isn’t picky and will eat anything in a good treat then these would be a good choice. I like that they are gummys so the dog doesn’t feel the crunch when it’s hidden in soft yummy food like hamburger meat or cheese. Some dogs may just inhale these treats which would work as well! My vet has actually always recommended an Omega 3 supplement for our small dog because he was born with luxating patellas and has arthritis now. I like how these come from a veterinarian recommended brand. These have glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM which have all been shown to help joint health. They also contain omega 3s which is good for several body functions, including the skin and dog’s coats. The bottle has clear directions and the ingredient list seems simple and not filled with several unnecessary ingredients. If you’re dog isn’t picky I would recommend these as an all around supplement for your dog and their joint and full body health.
Supplement versus Vet Bills
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have decided to try and keep my small dog healthy for as long as possible. So with preventative measures in mind I got the Nutramax Cosequin Maximum Strength with MSM Plus Omega-3's Mini Joint Health Supplement for Small Dogs, 45 Soft Chews to try and keep her joints in good shape. The supplements are toted to keep her joints in good condition as she grows older. We have stairs in our house so the likelihood that she will develop joint issues over time is probably more, than if we did not have stairs. My dog is a small Maltese Shih Tzu mix and I don’t think they are prone to have issues with their joints, but as they say, a little prevention goes a long way. This relatively small expense versus the cost of veterinary medical doctors is worth the cost. No doubt. The supplement tablets are small and she seems to like them and that’s good because she is really stubborn and picky about what she eats. I don’t expect to see any results but I am hoping over the long term she will not have any issues with her joints and will be healthy and happy for years to come.
Cosequin joint supplement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Designed for small dogs these are the minis. My dog about 12lbs and 8 years old started to have a slight limp after chasing too many squirrels. It was not all the time but more when she had been napping for awhile and then got up. She walked a little stiff like arthritis. When these came I started her on 2 a day and now a couple weeks later her stiffness and limp are gone. Could it be to time helped along with these supplements but I'm going to continue to give these to her on one a day maintenance level. These are a small and soft to chew. They do smell like fish and one of the ingredients is fish oil. They have 260mg of glucosamine hydrochloride, 175mg of methylsulfonylmethane, 130mg sodium chondroitin sulfate, 30mg Omega 3's, 15mg EPA and 10mg DHA. 45 chews to a bag. Maximum strength for mobility, cartilage and joint support.
Everything a little dog needs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These joint supplements are packed with all the nutrients an older dog would need. It supports joint health and also helps keep their skin and coat healthy. The chews are small and easy for little and/or older dogs to chew. It does take a few weeks before any differences would be noticed, but well worth it to help a fur baby get around better.
