It helps!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog is only 4 years old. She is a chihuahua. To get up on the bed she has to jump on the door stool first. I put a rug there so she wouldn’t slide. She slipped a couple times when jumping to the stool first. Since then I have had to pick her up and put her on the bed. I tried these chews because I thought they might make her more limber. She does not jump on the stool to the bed all the time but I have gotten her to do it. I really think these helped her in her hips. I do not know how this will work for an older dog but I believe it is worth the try
Excellent product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My little 9 year old Yorkshire was beginning to slow down, stop jumping, playing and being herself. So I decided to give these a try to see if they woudl live up to what people were saying. They have really helped her. she has started to run, play jump, and even roll around which she hasn’t done in a long time! I am very pleased with what they have done for her and I will continie to give them to her. Anyway, after doing this for few days I cannot believe the difference in her! Before these chews she mostly slept and wouldn't play with any of her toys. Now she zips around the house, plays with her toys, and begs to go on walks! She's a whole new dog! For the past few days she has been eating them as a treat too! I highly recommend these!
Supplement versus Vet Bills
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have decided to try and keep my small dog healthy for as long as possible. So with preventative measures in mind I got the Nutramax Cosequin Maximum Strength with MSM Plus Omega-3's Mini Joint Health Supplement for Small Dogs, 45 Soft Chews to try and keep her joints in good shape. The supplements are toted to keep her joints in good condition as she grows older. We have stairs in our house so the likelihood that she will develop joint issues over time is probably more, than if we did not have stairs. My dog is a small Maltese Shih Tzu mix and I don’t think they are prone to have issues with their joints, but as they say, a little prevention goes a long way. This relatively small expense versus the cost of veterinary medical doctors is worth the cost. No doubt. The supplement tablets are small and she seems to like them and that’s good because she is really stubborn and picky about what she eats. I don’t expect to see any results but I am hoping over the long term she will not have any issues with her joints and will be healthy and happy for years to come.
Cosequin joint supplement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Designed for small dogs these are the minis. My dog about 12lbs and 8 years old started to have a slight limp after chasing too many squirrels. It was not all the time but more when she had been napping for awhile and then got up. She walked a little stiff like arthritis. When these came I started her on 2 a day and now a couple weeks later her stiffness and limp are gone. Could it be to time helped along with these supplements but I'm going to continue to give these to her on one a day maintenance level. These are a small and soft to chew. They do smell like fish and one of the ingredients is fish oil. They have 260mg of glucosamine hydrochloride, 175mg of methylsulfonylmethane, 130mg sodium chondroitin sulfate, 30mg Omega 3's, 15mg EPA and 10mg DHA. 45 chews to a bag. Maximum strength for mobility, cartilage and joint support.
My new dog supplement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy to have received these Cosequin Mini Joint Health Supplements. In the past, the vet recommended Cosequin for my Shih Tzu. He is supposed to take them every other day. However, I purchased the chewable tablets that are quite frankly too big for a small dog. I cut them in half however, my dog does not like to chew them. He usually avoids hard foods and hard treats. It was a struggle to hide them in food which he usually did not end up eating. I gave up and was no longer giving it to him and was looking into other options. I am so relieved that these are the brand recommended by my vet, Cosequin and are soft and mini. My Cody, immediately ate it and I was thrilled. These are wonderful. The package is a three month supply. I like that because it will keep them fresh. I don't like such large bags of anything because I feel it can go stale. I also recommend these because of the package. It is a wonderful, easy to use, resealable bag. The recommended amount is clearly marked on the back of the package as well as the ingredients contained in each chew. This helps with the dogs mobility, cartilage and joint support plus contains omega 3's for healthy skin and a healthy coat. I highly recommend these Cosquin Joint Health Supplement Minis.
Cosequin dog chews
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cosequin joint health supplement minis are soft dog chews. My dog will eat them if I add them to his food bowl. He won’t take them from my hand like he does dog treats. My dog is 8 years old and so far he has tolerated these with no side effects. These support mobility, cartilage and joint support. They also are supposed to promote healthy skin and coat although I haven’t noticed any changes to his skin and coat since starting theses. The maintenance dose is 2 chews daily for dogs weighing 11-25lbs for 4-6 weeks followed by 1 daily for a maintenance level. Dogs 5-10lbs take 1 daily for 4-6 weeks followed by 1 every other day for the maintenance level. Each soft chew contains glucosamine, MSM, sodium chondrotin, omega 3’s, EPA, DHA. They also contain fish oil, glycerin, green tea extract, preservative, natural flavor, rosemary extract, silicon dioxide, starch and vegetable oil. These come in a resealable bag and it contains 45 chews which is less than a month supply for the initial 4-6 week period after that they will last a month and half per bag. These are small and easy to chew for my dog. We haven’t finished the initial phase yet so time will tell if these help with mobility.
Roxie likes them!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 11+ year old Yorkiepoo has developed difficulties jumping onto the couch to sit and watch TV with me! I just started her on the Cosequin, and she likes them, so we will see how she does. I did notice a little better spring in her step on our walks. My vet told me these were fine to give her, and recommended them.
Poodle Loves Them
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 5 pound toy poodle. At one year of age he jumped off the couch and broke his leg. He had to have surgery with a metal plate placed in that leg. The vet told me after the surgery to keep him on a joint health supplement to keep him from having arthritis or problems later on. I saw these and decided to give them a try. He is a bit picky with snacks so I wasn't so sure he would like these. He loved them! I give him 1 a day. The mini ones for small dogs have a fish oil in them and I think that's why my dog loved them so much. They are just the right size. The texture is squishy but they stay together without crumbling. The ingredients are very healthy and from a reputable company. It takes months and months to see the health benefits of these type products so health wise I can't speak to how they will work. As far as taste and quality, my doggy approves :)
Good supplement for arthritis
My 17 year old schnoodle loves these supplements, and takes them like a treat. He is a lot more mobile when he has one a day. My little Lhasa runs up when I get them out thinking they are a treat- she doesn’t need the supplement so I give her a regular treat instead, but when she smells this supplement she walks away. They do have a strong fish smell similar to a fish oil supplement smell. The schnoodle loves them and since he is the one that needs it, these work perfectly in my household. If the Lhasa ever develops arthritis I might need a different product.
Chews Of Youth
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 12-year-old chihuahua has been gimpy around the house the past few months. Our vet recommended giving him a supplement rich in glucosamine to help with the cartilage in his hip joints. I chose this Nutramax and began giving it to him as a treat: that is how tasty they are. After just two weeks I can see a difference in his gate as he rambles through the yard, and especially when he goes up and down the steps. The relief these chews have brought him shows in every movement he makes.
