Basmati means 'full of fragrance'...! Once upon a time....A very poor man worked a labor job 1 full year for a master to taste a dish of this deliciously fragrant Basmati Rice from his master. At the end of 1 year while others were congratulating his achievement, this poor man donated his full dish to a starving beggar..who came over there following the fragrance.!

This is a really tasty basmati rice. It has a good texture, scent, and flavor, entirely different from white or jasmine rice. I was thrilled to see that I was able to buy this "essential" product before it went out of stock indefinitely, since we now live in a time where staple food items like rice are a hot commodity that you have to race to buy before its too late. But it's a great rice.

First time purchase. Excellent quality basmati rice. Follow directions and you will be be enjoying fluffy rice in 20 minutes. There is no need for a rice cooker. I cook extra so that i can make our favorite rice custard for next mornings breakfast or enjoys as a dessert/snack. So many possibilities with this excellent grain rice from India. Great rustic packaging utilizing a reuseable burlap designed bag with zippered closure.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well, if it wasn’t for my rice cooker breaking the first time I tried cooking this rice - I’m sure it would have been perfect the first time around but the second time was 10/10!!! The way it crisps up when you fry it for crispy rice balls, to having it with some salt, pepper and butter!!! Go die for. The rice grains are perfect (not to long thank goodness) but it’s also so fluffy and flavorful! Will definitely be purchasing this rice again VERY soon!

Very happy with this purchase! The rice smells wonderful while cooking and tastes authentic. I’ve tried other basmati brands before, but this one is by far the best for flavor and texture. The 20 lb bag is perfect for a family like mine. Cooks well every time, and the grains are perfect for biryani, pulao, or plain steamed rice.

while I have not tried it as of yet, i do believe when I do it will be excellent. The high nutritional value of Basmati rice makes it good your health, as well as diet plans. It has a high amount of micronutrients and macronutrients and one serving of basmati rice contains minerals and vitamins such as copper, zinc, calcium, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B1, B6, vitamin E, K, and pantothenic acids.

Ordered 2 bags. 1 bag came completely fine, sealed and zipped appropriately. the 2nd bag was completely unzipped, the zipper completely broken and unhinged, and the bag punctured/broken with 1/2 of the rice all over. Both of the bags came in an enclosed shipping box and I knew that the hassle of returning the bag of rice would be greater than just throwing it away. The actual seal on top of the plastic bag was broken. I'm not sure how they inspect their merchandise before they ship, but this was a complete disaster. I've ordered numerous bags of rice from Amazon and never had a problem with the way it came. This was the first time ordering this product from Walmart. I will not be ordering this product from Walmart again.

The rice is infested. I was wondering why after I cooked the rice i saw maggot looking rice. I did research and in fact the rice is infested and the egg larvae is in the rice all throughout. I’m throwing it away and totally disgusted. There are methods to kill the egg larvae by freezing the entire bag for 4 days but I’ll pass I can no longer eat rice. I can not submit photos because this review was made after I tossed the entire 20lb bag in my dumpster.

The grains were long, not sticky, but fluffy. Had a great shape and texture. Very delicious plain with butter. Didn't take long to make on the stove or cooker.

Ive purchased this on a few occasions and am very satisfied with this rice. My wife grew up in India and I sort of did too so our expectations of basmati is a bit higher than most. These skinny long grains go perfect with chicken curry, biryani, beef and broccoli, even teriyaki if you dont have the traditional rice. Its a staple in our house and the value is as good as buying in Patel Brothers or any Indian grocery store. Bought two and got free shipping for that much weight in transit is usually very expensive. This is a no brainer for us. Come to think, might buy two more now to stock for winter in case COVID gets worse and there may be shortages.
